I doubt either of us realized at the time how prophetic this song would be. It turned out to be more dangerous than we could have possibly foreseen as it has turned out. To my revolutionary lover.

Fucking great tune.
"You've gotta kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight."
It is somewhat humorous that his name is Cockburn although it's pronounced Coburn. I suspect he was fucked with about that the same way that Andy Dick was.

Nice song for your dedication. I feel your loss. Back in the days, late 80's. I had a close friend in high school, she had a boyfriend, and I had a girlfriend. But we became friends because of our love for writing. And high school back then was 80's cheese that you seen in movies like breakfast club or sweet sixteen. I was this hip hop kid and she was alternative rock. We would cruise together after school, I think summer school(I was always cutting class, yes, I was one of those kids), just brainstorming ideas, for a good storyline. We would come up with some stupid shit lol. We rarely agreed on music or song choice, but this song played on, boys of summer, and like dorks we sang a long. After we graduated high school, we wrote to each other from time to time while in college. Then we just lost touch. You know how that goes. Sadly, I heard from a mutual friend that she was killed in a car accident. She didn't get to live long enough to write the book she always wanted to write. Life is tragic that way. It was just one of those sad things. The weird thing is, after I was told that, I get back to my cubicle at work and my co-worker had KOIT on or something, and the boys of summer played. In that moment, it just felt good, because I just remember that fun time in a rushing in flashback of my high school time with her.
