"Breakup, get back together. How long was the breakup?"
 
   Just curious to see how long people's breakups were before getting back together. Did the getting back together work out?

A friend of mine is looking at getting back together with his ex-girlfriend and their breakup has been over 1 year.

   I have a friend who's been seeing his girlfriend on/off for 15 years. They met in college and have an interesting relationship. They go months without speaking for some odd reason then their lovey dovey for a year. I guess you can call it a love hate relationship. Funny thing is he has no desire to hobby. If its not her, then its nobody. Why? I dunno!

My wife breaks up with me regularly, I'd say twice a month.

Sometimes I screw up, and I deserve her anger. I have trained myself to swallow my pride quickly and apologize if I'm at fault. That doesn't mean she will be in a mood to listen. More often, she's taking it out on me for no good reason.

How long does it take for her to get back together with me? Are we counting to when she's done being angry, and she goes back to chit-chatting with me like nothing happened? That usually takes two days or so. Are we counting to when we actually have the conversation necessary to provide closure, culminating in an apology? That can take a week.

Are we counting to the make-up sex? If she makes me wait a week for my apology, sometimes I don't even want the make-up sex. Anyway, we have sex about once a month these days.

...sorry, was that a threadjack?

My experience with break ups is that there is no going back and making it the way it was. That was the point of breaking up.

I got together with a ex GF after about a 6 month break up. Lasted 3 months and we broke up again. For exactly the same reasons as the first time..DUH! I also broke up once with my current GF and got back after about 3 months (the same time I was seeing the ex..) and we have been together for two years since and its been better than ever.

So you never know..

I decided to move back in with my wife after a six month separation, so it's possible, but don't forget there's usually a good reason you broke up in the first place.
