Ok Ben, I was not going to post a report this time, but if you insist. I must warn you, it's probably not going to be one of my happy and up beat reports. So just remember, you asked for it. Ever have one of those days? You know, you stub you toe when getting out of bed, nick for face when shaving and end up late for work because of a traffic jam? And then things really start going down hill when you get to work and no matter how you hard try; things keep going down hill? Well, things were not quite that bad for me, but it was real close. Well, at first anyway.
7:30am, eastern time. We are in the plane ready to take off for two days and nights of fun in San Francisco. One in our party has never been to SF and is very excited. If all goes well we will land in SF just after 10AM Califorina time. But all does not go well, the Captain comes on the P.A. system and says "they are having a little problem with the computer but should have it fixed in about 30 minuets." Thirty minutes truned into one hour and then the flight was canceled altogether. The next direct flight out was at 4:00PM.
But wait, checking the schedule we see that the 7:32am flight to Phoenix Az. has been delayed until 9:30, and with only a 45 minute lay over we could jump on a Phoenix to SF plane and still get there by early afternoon. There were seats available so we try for it. The flight to Phoenix was pleasant enough, but a long story made short, our lay-over last for almost two hours, then a very long wait to take off and we finally get to SFO after dark with the whole day shot.
After checking into the Hilton we make the short walk over to the Tian Sing Chinese Restaurant on the corner of Cyril Magnin and Ellis and eat Dim Sum. It cost more at night but our friend who is new to SF just can't wait until the morning to have dim sum. It was expensive but it was outstanding. Then we had to waste more time at Macys becasue our friends bags did not make it to SF and she needs to by some clothes.
It's past 10 oclock and I am finally free to go the the CH. My hopes to see some of my day ATFs had been dashed, but I was hoping salvage something of the night. There is a week crowd, maybe the weekest I have seen in years. Maybe it's because of the rain plus recession and being Wednesday night, I don't know. The guy at the counter charges me only $20.00. Only about 3 or 4 people sitting up front and only several in the back. I notice a white girl finishing up her set with not a single dollar tip. Diamond comes on the stage and the few men get up and move to the back, or leave the club. I think to myself "What is going on?" Even though Diamond is much larger woman I like; I can't stand the tought of her dancing on stage for nothing, so I move up to the front and lay down several dollars. Then 3 other men enter the seats on the other side and Diamond ends up with a fiarly decent amount of tips.
I was disappointed that Jassi and others are not in the house. There is not much time, so I narrow down my list to Baby and Melissa. I have not seen Melissa since she came back so I opt for her and a lap. It was good to see her again, she looks great and it was very enjoyable lap. As I leave the club; I hear the guy behind the counter charge two men $15.00 to get in, which is good because it looked like the guys was going to walk instead of going in.
The next day we eat in Chinatown before making the walk down to fisherman warf. Then it starts to rain. Our friend want's to eat lucnh down there. The warf was not my idea and I have my doubts if that is a good idea as I feel there are many other places we could eat that would be better. But it's her choice and I don't protest too much.
Unlike every other time I have been in SF the rain does not let up and even though we are wearing ponchos, our feet and legs get soaked. In fact thursday was the worst wearther I have experienced in my thirty years of coming to SF. And as I feared, the lunch was only OK. We take a cable car back to Powell and Offarell and for the first time ever I see cable cars stacked up waiting for riders. The cable car we take have only six or seven people on it.
When I finally got out on my own the rain has stopped and I get down to the CH in a dry condition. I get charged the regular rate, but the pickings for me are not good. No jade, no Jessi no Jada and of course any chance to have seen Karma, Jessica and Mina have long since gone.
I see Skye on stage followed by Mika. I sit stage side and tip her. There is a new girl, Ivy, well, the guy at the counter says she is new. He says she is part balck and part Italian. She does not look part black to me. She is tall and slim with long stright brown hair. Versace is sitting by the old PS room in the same place she was sitting the night before. Ashley come by and asks for a dance as does seveal girls. Mika come by and thinks she knows me. I guess she remembers me from the week before, anyway, she is really nice and I have heard good thing about her so I give her a try in the lap room. Mika is a really hard worker and really gets into it. She does a really good job and I look forward to seeing her again.
There is still some time left so I decide to make the walk up to Broadway Showgirls. My contact info for Jasmin/Niko is not good anymore so I am taking pot luck. The guy at the front says she is in the club, but I suspect if I had asked if the loch ness monster was working that night he would have said "yes she is."
Anyway, true to the way my luck was running Jasmin was not there. I bought a drink and enjoyed the dancers there for a while and called it a trip and truged back to the hotel. The next day we took the 8:55 am back to charlotte. I got the last seat on the plane.
Oh well, you win some , you lose some and some are rained out.
