Gold Club is on howard. BUt i don't see any other clubs by it. You see, Century is by Mitchell Brothers. Market Street is by Crazy Horze and in the past, LA Gals. Then you have all the Broadway Clubs all close to each other. So is there any other strip clubs in san fran that are all by themselves? Or is it just Gold Club?

There are quite a few other buildings in the neighborhood. There is a Wells Fargo building across the street and the Moscone Center on the next block.

Now that I think about it, the Thirsty Bear has been there for quite some time now. There is also a Chevy's nearby, and for those of us really on a budget there is a Lee's sandwich shop just a few blocks away on New Montgomery. There are other businesses and buildings in the neighborhood as well.

Guys I know there are other businesses. Just like there are on every other street. Im saying its the only stripclub thats not close by to another club. Century has mitchells next block to it. Market street has crazy horse. All the broadway clubs are right next to each other as well.

If I want a beer the Thirsty Bear hits the spot, but I also go to Kate O'Briens and get me some Irish Nachos.

Somehow, despite all the times I've been past there, I've never actually gone into the Thirsty Bear. I don't drink much anymore but maybe it's time I tried the food.

LAST EDITED ON 13-Aug-10 AT 10:50 AM (PST)

There was a club on Fillmore and Fell that was a hangout for the pimp crowd that was all by itself. Catered to the black folks and other races not really welcome. I think it was closed down in 72 73 after a coupla "playas" had a shootout and someone got dead. Then there was the Pink Clam down on 3rd street past China Basin...ony business out there. Most of the strippers had to be 50+ years old. Heard the owner decided to torch the place because he would have made more on the insurance...gee, that must have been 68. Can't think of any other strip clubs by itself...but I'll get back on the board if I rememeber any.

The "Pink Clam" ---OMG, I can't believe how managled this story got.It was the Blue Oyster Club and catered to all the dock workers. SF urban legend says some hippie musicians van broke down in front. Expecting the worst, the hippies asked to use the phone. Some of the dock workers came and fixed the van for free and the hippies where able to get to their audition and became the opening band for Jefferson Airplane. Asked the group name, they opted for BLUE OYSTER CULT and a rock legend was born. There were no 50 yr old strippers...but the hookers that worked the area and serviced the dock workers were pretty tough old broads. Real San Franciscans know this story...only the dumb shits living in Pacifica mansions are clueless...about a lotta things.

A nearby fitness club you say? That could prove convenient. Go in for a workout and get all warmed up for some LDs.
