"If I ever own a strip club"

LAST EDITED ON 03-Sep-10 AT 00:29 AM (PST)

I tell you the truth, anyone who has money to invest and can find good location can run a very successful strip club. The secret is to be hands on. Skip the managers and bouncers. Just deal with customers and business as much as you can. Be humble and infiltrate the customers. Then you will know exactly what people want and don't want. You don't need to take shit from the managers nor bouncers. They watch your club for you, that's all. But you run the club. You decide who to fire and who to ban. Do not let bouncers or managers fool you. Each girl fired or each customer banned will cost you lots of money in the long run. So be flexible. Be hands on. You have to run the club like a 60 year-old Chinese store owner in Chinatown, count each penny and watch each employee's hands.

I would be very careful when I listen to bouncers or managers. You know if you listen to every word they say, then they own your ass. I would be cautious. I would stop being lazy and visit the clubs frequently and speak to my customers. Just go up to a regular and start speaking to him pretending that I am also a customer. Then ask them what they hate about the club and what they like. I would infiltrate the customers and find out how hard the manager and the bouncers work for me. After all, customers are my boss because they pay me. I would be more hands on.

Lots of owners that don't like to be hands on because they want people to think they are big bosses. Yeah they don't do shit. They just tell others to do everything. Trust me at the end you will not earn money if you just let managers do everything for you. Because this is not their business, and they simply don't care if you lose money or earn money. So lots of times managers and bouncers don't give a shit about customers. Hey, as long as they can keep their job, they care less about customers. And if customers complain, hey, they can always make up stories in front of the owner. Who does the owner trust at the end?

I am more of a hands on type of owner. I make sure I see and hear everything so nobody can tell me some crap. I really wish the owner of these broadway clubs would be more hands on and visit the clubs more and most importantly speak the the customers and don't act like you are some top dog and can't even speak to the low life customers. Be hands on. At the end you are the one who needs to earn money.

I would trust the customers more. If the club is doing poorly, trust me the managers are bad and need to be fired. Don't let them give you some bullshit excuse, like trouble with the girls, or trouble with some bad customers. "Yeah, we fired this girl and banned that customers. They are the ones that caused your club's business to sink, not us. We are doing everything to manage your club." Do not listen to that type of bullshit. I have lots of managers for my own business. I know. When you have a manager who always tell you thinks are bad and he's a hero and he's pulling everything together for you, trust me that's the type of person you need to be careful about.

Manhattan you talk so much but no action. One of the owners was at Centerfolds today. If you really want any resolution, you should attempt to communicate with him.

He's a logical guy, who doesn't want unnecessary problems.

It's just kinda hard to believe everything your saying now when all your buddies are getting banned. You have to be doing something abnormal for them not to want you there.

How do I contact the owner. I don't just want one owner. I want to speak to them all. Im the type of person who likes to speak to business owner. Sometimes the owners don't like what I said. But usually I was right. Im not trying to get back into the clubs. But I just think some managers don't know how to run the club and they simply ban customers and fire girls and use them as excuse why clubs are not doing well.

I'm going to repeat myself again Manhattan. One of the owners is a chubby middle eastern guy, who is actually fairly hands on with the paperwork etc.

He was at the club today, looking into things. Honestly unless you can effect their ability to function or profitable bottom lines. It's going to be extremly difficult for you to get them to gather, and hold court to resolve your managerial issues/advice. Just talk to the middle eastern, he will convey, if he thinks anything you say is credible or relevant.

Just ranting and raving, and flailing your arms about isnt enough. You actually have to be able to impact their status quo.

As the head of a business in the private sector I'm sure you should already know this.

Most of the time they think they so hot shot. They would tell me that they will ask the manager, and of course the manager will say Im the bad guy.

Trust me. I been thru lots of experience. And when it comes to business, last person you want to trust is the manager. Because he's the middle man. YOu want to skip the middle man.

Guess who the managers are more hands-on with at these clubs? That's right, the customers who drop big money. Not the losers who just pay cover and sit around ogling all night while wasting dancer's time. Perhaps you should really get out of your own shoes and look at it like a business owner to understand why you get kicked out.

Not true. You have no business mind. Customer drop big money only once awhile. But regulars? They come 3 or 4 times a week. If you add up how much they spend, they spend alot. And regulars are hooked. They need to come back. Now why would you lose this type of customer? You are qualified to be a bouncer with that kind of mentality. But trust me, if I am the owner you won't last long in my club.

You'll never have a club, so I'm not worried about that.

Like gfunk said, you will never own a club. Do you have any real business experience other than selling trinkets over the internet?

Well, long ago I used to help people spam. I rent apartments, etc. I know I won't ever own a strip club because one day I will become a politician. So I habe to be careful, not to affect my reputation.

Renting apartments is not a real business. I know a lot of people who have rental properties.

Oh, one more thing. I doubt you will ever get elected into public office. You need to spend big money campaigning. If you cringe every time you have to drop $60 at a club, then running for office is not for you. The only guy I can see voting for you is ML. Maybe he can be your campaign manager.

   Yup interesting indeed.

Anyone else notice ML's recent posts seem more toned down and less abnormal?

I'm sure your borderline insane posts on this board and the fact of your having been banned from virtually all of the strip clubs in town, not to mention the restraining order against you from one dancer, won't become an issue when you seek public office. Oh, not to mention the true insanity on your board (alexchiu.com), including your interesting dreams and bizarre views on world politics. Oh oh, not to mention the fact that you are a snake oil salesman by trade. Owning a strip club would be positively respectable compared to the public resume you've compiled so far.

Restraining order? Nah. If some girl tells me I don't like you. Leave! Fuck her. I will leave. Im not extremely crazy when it comes to women. Im banned from Centerfolds, Hustler, Roaring 20s, and maybe showgirls. But not from garden eden because the general manager tried to pull me in once when I walked passed it like few months ago. I went to gold club 2 months ago and crazy horse too about few months ago. Never been to Mitchell brothers. I could goto century too. But the thing is after I got banned from a few club, its just not fun anymore. So I just stopped going.
