Lets look at the current record of this thread:

OTR posts an article on Senator George Allen's association with a group that is considered white supremacists. The only line from OTR is to note the link to Allen's recent berating of a person at one of his rallies that is considered racist (and Allen did apologiize and admit he was wrong).

HJ is the first to reply TWICE with slurs at OTR and then brings up what HJ considered Democrats that he believes have committed similar malfeaseances. He may have a point with Byrd but not with Hillary or Biden in terms of group associations.

HJ continues to hurl slurs and whine about the Democrats while never once addressing the topic of the thread ad then has the audacity to state the following:

Just to add some commentary, you do what you have to do to get votes. You pander, you associate, you lie, and when you get into office you start to create your true base of folks that believe in your causes. Past associations will come back to haunt you. In Allen's case it's worse because he has put members of this group in his employ so it's not just a pandering for votes. By the way, the same goes for the extreme righ wing Christian evangelicals and their support of Bush. But as noted, it can be looked at as mere politics to get elected if you take the dictum of the former Assembly Speaker Jesse Unruh, "If you can’t take their money, drink their liquor, screw their women, and still vote against ‘em in the morning, you don’t belong here.” Unfortunately, in Allen's case he has more to answer for.
