Message board moderators are identified by a blue head icon and are listed in the lobby next to the corresponding forum which they watch over. The moderator can delete or lock threads in their forum, and will receive the alerts when you click the ALERT link. The message board administrators (redbook) also have these capabilities and receive alerts. The moderator can also edit all posts in their forums, which are then tagged with a timestamp of when this happens.
Moderators cannot edit/ban users, get/change passwords, see/compare ip addresses, access other people's inboxes, see/read private forums where they are not listed as a member.
They also cannot edit/remove reviews, find out what happened to your review, extend expiration dates, or do anything with the review section. For these issues, see www.myredbook.com/faq.aspx and/or contact redbook directly at www.myredbook.com/support.aspx
Moderators are members who have contacted us and generously volunteered their time and energy to help keep the board productive. If you think you'd make an excellent moderator, send us the forum name and your qualifications for consideration. Serious inquiries only.
Additionally, there are Chat Room moderators, who are shown in BLUE text, named rb_modXX, who have the ability to kick people out of the chat room. It does not give them any special capabilities on the message board or review sections.
