So you want to attend a mixer?Lately, there has been a lot of interest in the RB mixers. However, many people have mentioned to those responsible for planning these mixers, their desire to attend, but also seem upset if not invited. We will make every attempt to plan more public mixers in the future. In an effort to allow as much participation possible while still remaining fairly low-key (as there have been some discretion issues), I have consulted with several RB veterans and this is what we have come up with.
MIXER ETIQUETTE
1. When mixers are planned, there should be no public announcement on the boards. A simple post stating that a mixer is coming soon (without any other specifics) along with a name of who to contact if one is interested should be the only acceptable post.
2. Invites will be handled by those planning the event and will be sent out to those who inquire. These invitations might be limited to known RB members who have attended mixers in the past. This will be done via inbox or email. The person planning the event will have sole discretion on whom to invite and also whether to allow invitees to make their own invites. Understand that a private mixer (someone’s home or other special event) vs. a public mixer (bar, club, etc.) may have a much different guest list. Although there is no stopping anyone from planning their own mixer, please use caution when inviting lesser-known users.
3. Any and all details regarding these mixers are to remain as confidential and discreet as possible prior to the event. If you want to invite someone, discuss travel arrangements, or other details and you are unsure who has been invited, please contact the person(s) planning the event for permission.
4. There is to be NO BUSINESS conducted at these events under any circumstance or for any reason. It is fine to meet people and exchange phone numbers for future reference if desired but the discussion of business should be left outside, as this is a social function.
5. Information regarding who our group is and what we are celebrating must be kept confidential if in a public setting. Please do not disclose to ANYONE who we are and what we represent. This goes for Strip Clubs as well. A simple reply would be to say that we are celebrating someone’s birthday.
6. Absolutely NO PHOTOS or VIDEO should be taken during the mixers. Our group by its very nature requires the utmost discretion as many of us are married, involved or might have other exposures to be concerned about.
7. Details regarding the mixer’s events should always be as discreet as possible too. Posting a summary of the mixer’s events is not unusual, but please make sure that you have the permission of the people involved that you wish to discuss. Even a listing of the guests in attendance should be kept discreet unless one is sure they will not offend anyone. Please also use common sense when posting. For example, if Puff was standing naked out on the balcony at a mixer with everyone watching, he forgoes his privacy, but if you walk in on BTL and a goat in the bathroom, you might want to think twice before posting.
8. If there are ladies present, this does not automatically mean that they are there for free exhibitionism or companionship. They are to be treated with the same respect as all of the mixer’s guests. If some people decide to get a little friendlier than others, so be it, but please do not expect the same treatment from each lady. Our ladies (and some gentlemen…clearing throat) should not feel they are in jeopardy just because they wish to share their exhibitionist side. No one is to participate without being invited to do so.
9. Enjoy yourself, act crazy, get naked and just do what we all do best…HAVE FUN! As long as we can all abide by these simple rules, everyone will have a great time and there will be many more mixers ahead.
Thank you for your cooperation.
