"Bad Experience at Aroma in RWC"

I'm kind of ashamed that being a seasoned hobbyist that I fell victim to a lousy AMP experience. Thinking I hadn't been there before, I read the reviews and went in armed with three names. For whatever the reason this seemed to put off the receptionist who asked me how I knew the ladies if I hadn't been before. I told her that I knew from looking at RB. One of the three ladies, Tiffany, walked in and told me the half-hour price to which I replied I'd rather do an hour. She said ok and collected the dough.
Now first off, I waited for her after the shower for five minutes. Then she seemed surprised or put off that I hadn't draped myself and she grabbed a towel and put it over me. Early on I relaxed my arms and put down off the table. I guess she thought I was going to touch her as she put one arm back and said something to the affect of, "Not now baby." She did a pretty good massage and soon after flipping me over said the massage was done.
She told me to close my eyes for a few minutes and relax. Stupid me, I thought this was a prelude to the grand finale. Instead she left. I waited five minutes and noticed from looking at the clock in the room that Tiffany had shorted me 15 minutes. I went out of the room and Tiffany, figuring I wanted a shower, pointed to the bathroom. I told her I came out to find out why she cut my session short to which she replied that I must be mistaken. I told I was certain I wasn't in that I looked at the clock when she took me to the room.
I then told her, politely, that I wasn't happy with the experience and wouldn't be leaving a tip but didn't want to stiff her w/o telling her why.
Now bros, did I do something wrong here?

First of all, you're way out of your league being there in the penninsula.
Secondly, that should finally give you a lesson and stick to SJ's TAMP's and AMP's.
No need to be "ashamed".
Just stick to those parameters and avoid it all the way around.

SASUKE - What a load of crap! I have to assume you joking... We are all hobbiests here. Where we ply our hobby doesn't matter. I think maybe he roused suspicion by asking for a particulare girl. Maybe he should have said a friend recommended so-and-so... Who knows. Just carry yourself with confidence and they can sense it.

Personally, I never, ever mention RB. I'm willing to bet a year's salary the receptionist and thus Tiffany, thought you were LE. You should have lied and said, "yep I've been here before. It's been a while, but I remember Tiffany was real nice to me the last time..." And left it at that. Tiffany would have acted like she remembered you and because you'd be a repeat customer in her eyes, she would have been extra nice to you.

Agreed, unless you've been there numerous times and they recognize you, then dont say anything about RB. As BuddyEdgeWood suggests, say you met with so-and-so before (and hope it's not so-and-so who greeted you) and go along with any questions

Amen, I never mention RB on the first outing (or ever for AMPs). If they ask I mention that I have been to someplace nearby (like woodside or Dermal).

You might try asking who is available and pick from that list.

There was a russian run place in Baltimore that used to strut the available line up for you. Loved that place - discovered it by accident when I was trying to get buy a manicure certificate for my SO. Boy would she have been surprised.

Mistake No 1 says you have read the review in Redbooks.
Mistake No 2 says you never been there before.
Mistake No 3 expects extra services on first outing at a TAMP place. Only repeat customer will get the extra services after the RAs feels comfortable and at ease at your presence. It is all about investment. This is what it is. Cheers;-)

There's only one thing I ever say when I walk in "I've been here before!" The reviews are great for names of ex-RA's as well as current. New(to you)place: Ask for a girl doesn't work there anymore (especially on Penninsula with LE crackdown.) The mamasan says she doesn't work here anymore or just no one here with that name and you can ask who she recommends. I always drop a few bucks ($5) in tip jar when asking. If you enjoy who she sends another fin on the way out makes sure she remembers you and treats you well next time.
Any embarrassment (and I say none) you experienced was made up for when politely explaining clearly why no tip was given. Just don't bother going back as you probably have security camera B&W photo posted up behind desk lol...
Overall...you got a massage and didn't spend much just wasted time.

Thanks to those who provided constructive feedback. I've been in most of the SB and lower Peninsula AMPs w/o a problem and this was the first time anyone challenged me on how I knew about RAs. Shows that even an experienced guy can fuck up. Won't happen twice.

u paid the house fee upfront or the total fee? if u say she shorted u 15min then u were getting a regular massage for 45min? If you weren't banging her in the first 30min then you should know u weren't going to get any

I asked for an hour and she collected the house fee for that.I'm not a sap and never tip until the end of the session. My obvious mistake was mentioning RB when asked how I knew about the place. I should have known better.

Completely seperate, but, the aroma just past palo alto going south I had a very different experience.

Went upstairs (above the coffee shop) gave house fee and started the masage, after a little while service level was determined and found to not possible. This was fine, I said no problem got up to get dressed, the lady said I still had 15 minutes and really wanted to finish the massage.

I declined and was prepared to give a token tip, I was pretty surprised when she came back and offered half the house fee back.

They deserve kudos for that level of customer service. Other places you often get a very different response to declining additional options.

newby here... second post. been hobbying in the east bay area for a few years. been to most of the amp's here. this is therefore slightly off topic the original post, but the message is relevant.

the only bad experience i had at an east bay amp was when i mentioned RB at alouette. they instantly started acting like i had been sprayed by a skunk before walking in the door... ever since then, i keep my mouth shut at a new place. my first visit strategy: lots of smiles and nods at the mamasan since she is your best chance for repeated success, especially since the turnover rate can be so high. i definitely try to make a good impression on her with politeness and try to make sure i talk to her on the way in and on the way out so she will (hopefully) remember me next time.

thanks to all the great advice i've received from you veteran posters over the years. i'm hoping to be a contributor in the future.
