"Calling a PO... 2 call system, 3 call system, etiquette?"

Yes another newb post. I've only been hobbying for a few months and only amp. The ads and reviews for aamp are too much to resist and I'm looking to make my first appt soon. I've read plenty of reviews so I have an idea of what the two call thing looks like. I call, set appt and receive directions. Second call when I arrive for instructions for gate code, apt # etc. But what's this three call system I'm reading about? Also, do POs only give directions and not the actual address (without apt # or gate code of course) Would be a lot easier to locate the building with the address rather than take directions (especially if they're coming from someone who's ESL) but I understand if they're trying to protect the girls somehow.

Is a list of 10 girls safe to start calling? I see so many posts about not getting thru on initial attempts or to a single RA calling multiple times. I suspect even moreso if the PO sees a # they don't recognize. I'm probably answering my own question by saying that I should probably have as many #s on hand as possible. Hopefully one of my top 10 pick up.

Thanks

Whether it's 2-call or 3-call seems to depend on when your appt is or if the PO knows you. 2-call is initial call to get appt and call when arrive to get gate code and apt number. 3-call system also has a confirmation call. Confirmation call is usually one hour before the appt. You can call a little bit earlier but do NOT be late! You can lose your appt if you forget the confirmation call or are late. I call earlier when I still need to get directions and I have to go to SJ during rush hour from SF. Traffic gets bad once get to MV or near SC.

Directions depends on the PO. Some don't tell you anything till the confirmation call. Some make you go to a "call-back-from" location (like go to this location and call for further instructions). Or you may get specific address of apt complex. You should have a hands-free headset so you can receive turn-by-turn instructions while driving. I like to at least get area location so I can generate a detailed map from MS Streets & Trips. Makes it easier to know where you are going. You just have to follow PO instructions and be patient.

Depending on the popularity of the girl and on the PO, you may have an easy time or a hard time connecting and making the appt. For a popular RA, definitely call early. Most start taking calls at 9am. Sometimes they start late and you won't get through till 11am or 1pm. Just keep trying or move on to the next girl. Popular RAs can book up for the day as early as 9:30am. It just depends on the girl, day of the week, weather, if she is just starting her stint, if they announced she is going on vacation soon, etc.

Thanks bone69. PO should be telling me how far in advance of appt to do the confirmation call?

Also thanks a lot for your aamp for dummies post. It's saved me from asking questions here.

I might add these recommendations:

Get a GPS, car or handheld, have the PO text you the address. Tell them you use a GPS, it makes their life easier. (some will not text, but should give an address or an intersection over the phone). First time, allow time to get lost finding the right building, gate, door, etc. (you will) and spend sometime figuring out how the buildings are numbered and where the entry gates are before you call.

When you get there and call (5 minutes before appointment time), have something to write with and on. Don't try to remember codes and appt #s, you wont, especially the first nerve racking times. I use my iPhone notes for this. Repeat the info back to the PO to make sure you have them correct. I use a $20 VirginMobile (Walgreens) phone for hobby communications.

Thanks z. Will either use the iPhone or write stuff down. Definitely heeding the advice in the clueless forum. Prepaid phone ready to go.

doh @ at my first two choices "coming back" this week. Maybe I'll get lucky but Ayaka and Nicole may take a while to see.

If you start with the best in the Bay Area, all others will disappoint. Just don't take my time slot.

I assume a confirmation call is needed. So if 4pm appt, need to make confirmation call by 3pm (It's almost always an hour before). PO will tell you if confirmation call not needed. Will say "call when get there" instead of "call at 3pm for confirmation call".

PS. I submitted an updated/revised "Guide to Visiting an AAMP" to the clueless forum. If they don't approve and post it, I'll post it here,

LOL. Sorry gents re: adding another customer to compete with.

Reviews for the most part look like they set expectations appropriately. As long as I know I'm getting sirloin instead of filet I won't be disappointed.
