"AMP/TAMP Girls in Social Networking"

I have been asked by a few of those girls for my e-mail ID so that they can connect with me through facebook. At first I was a bit hesitant. Finally I gave it to one girl. Boy oh boy! Her facebook is full of customers' pics and details.
She even dated some of the customers outside of her work palce, including me. Thanks goodness I don't have any joint shot with her. I'm wondering if any of you bros have similar experience!!!

"Just like there's a hobby phone, you might as well get a hobby facebook with hobby info..."

No thank you. My hobby takes place within the walls of the AAMP only...when the hour is up, it's back to Real Life, and never the two shall meet.

Unless you're a dedicated bachelor and you don't care if anyone knows you hobby, you have to assume anything and everything on the internet lasts forever, can be and will be discovered by someone.

For instance, there is facial recognition software with sophisticated algorithms that can identify a person in a crowd. Cops have been known to use it to scan for felons at a public event, for instance. If someone isn't already doing it, it's a matter of time before a site will be able to search across the internet for all pictures of a given person -- not just exact matches like TinEye but any picture of that person.

WHEN that day comes, I'm not going to have my picture on an RA's site bragging about what a great client I am, or on my own "private" hobby Facebook page linking to all the honeys.

Just stop and think about what you're doing, folks.

It's even closer than I thought. Sites like Picassa are already using facial recognition searches within the site. Face.com already has a person/picture finder app for Facebook and Google is deciding as we speak whether to launch that for an internet wide search that would let people find your picture on your ATFs Facebook page. (Let me know how that works out for you).

Think about what you do, people.

Google debates face recognition technology

By Maija Palmer in London

Published: May 19 2010 22:42 | Last updated: May 20 2010 01:02

Google executives are wrestling over whether to launch controversial facial recognition technology after a barrage of criticism over its privacy policies.

Eric Schmidt, chief executive, said a series of public disputes over privacy issues had caused the management team to review its procedures and the launch of new technologies. According to Google executives, facial recognition is one of the key topics of internal debate.

Mr Schmidt said: “Facial recognition is a good example.......anything we did in that area would be highly, highly planned, discussed and reviewed. When you go through these things, you review your management procedures.”

However, he would not rule out any eventual roll-out, saying: “It is important that we continue to innovate.”

Facial recognition has the potential to be the next privacy flashpoint. Google already uses the technology in its Picasa photo sharing service. This lets users tag some of the people in their photos and then searches through other albums to suggest other pictures in which the same faces appear.

However, Google has held back on launching the technology more broadly. It was not included, for example, in the Google Goggles product, launched last year. This allows people to search for something on the internet by taking a picture of it on a mobile phone.

Privacy campaigners have raised fears that adding facial recognition to Goggles would allow users to track strangers through a photograph, making it into an ideal tool for stalkers and identity fraudsters.

Google’s dilemma is that other companies, such as Israeli start-up Face.com, are developing face-recognition tools, and Google fears that it could lose an important advantage by further delaying a product launch.

Google is facing probes by the Spanish, French, German, Italian and Czech data protection authorities after revealing it had accidentally recorded data from unsecured WiFi connections over the past three years.

Earlier this year it faced a public outcry over Buzz, its social networking site, which critics claimed had exposed private information without the approval of users.

Now I never have trouble finding Waldo.

Google "face recognition software" for a plethora of info.

London police have used it with their citywide CCTV.

from Wikipedia--
"Pennsylvania Justice Network searches crime scene photographs and CCTV footage in the mugshot database of previous arrests. A number of cold cases have been resolved since the system became operational in 2005. Other law enforcement agencies in the USA and abroad use arrest mugshot databases in their forensic investigative work.

U.S. Department of State operates one of the largest face recognition systems in the world with over 75 million photographs that is actively used for visa processing.

Spaceship Earth in Epcot uses this for the touch screen part of the ride."

Facebook is considering adding the software but hesitate due to all of the other privacy issues they have raised.

If an RA wants to be social I'll buy them dinner.

How about this for description?

Hope springs eternal in the human breast;
Man never is, but always To be blest
A good samaritan will come along
Pouring water on the heads of undernourished mushrooms
so that they can grow strong

I find peoples hopes & expectations for internet anonymity to be one of the most hilarious things ever!

By the way, for those many folks that feel totally secure with their myspace, facebook, livejournal etc. set to FRIEND ONLY mode, so they can talk shit freely about everybody else they know...you'll probably want to slow down on that asap. The technology for DEEP WEB search has been around for a very long time, just not to the general public. But two or three years from now, any search engine like google, dogpile etc. will have all the options they have now, as well as DEEP WEB. And people running DEEP WEB searches will see all FRIENDS ONLY INVITE ONLY PROTECTED ENTRIES - all the shit you thought you had under a tight lock & key the last few years, in the next few years it will come up on a google search in an instant. Just something to think about, especially you married with children hobbyists with your "top secret" facebook.....oh man, that's a good laugh.

I feel so much power & security in being a single person with no body to answer to, and shameless with very little ability to feel embarrassed or ashamed. It's kind of like the freedom somebody has with a negative bank account balance against the lack of freedom possessed by a homeowner/business owner/all sorts of shit worth high dollar figure amounts owner. He looks great on paper, and he is....but he's stuck, dont do anything wrong, somebody will have you in court and take all your shit. The other dude? Piss him off & he can punch your ass out & curb stomp your mug when your down...what are you gonna do, sue him? His bank account is overdrawn $75, take your best shot one eye, use the good eye you still got left to see what needs to be taken off your facebook account your wife & kids are fixin to look up on google, hahahaha.....
