"Oakland's Chinatown"
 
   On the way home from the airport last night (around 9:00 PM) I stopped in Oak's Chinatown to get something to eat. Most places were closed which surprised me. Found a hole the wall place to eat. Very little English spoken. While eating an old van pulls up and out gets two very good looking Asian girls. They order in Chinese and sit waiting for their food, got it and left. Damn, they ordered a lot of food.

As I walked around after dinner I just kept thinking there had to be some AAMP's in this part town. You never see any posted either here or on Craigslist.

What do you think? They are there but only open to Chinese men? This Chinatown is different than the ones in SF, Seattle and Vancouver? Does a white guy have any chance of finding them if they do exist?

Just curious.

The strangest part of the story is the "old van" part. No self-respecting asian hottie would be seen in an "old van" in Oakland Chinatown....

There are AAMPs, but they advertise in Chinese-language newspapers and websites. Of course you could always stop by a local TAMP, but all of them close by 10PM because of a recent edict by Oakland PD. As a result, it's pretty dull after 10PM in Oakland Chinatown.

My opinion is that it was for a hostess or KTV type party. They offer a ton of food for free and charge ten times the going rate for the booze. The men get good and smashed and tip the shit out of the girls. Usually the guy who throws the party is trying to be the big shot. At the end of the night most of the girls are available for off premises playtime.

   While I don't disagree with your sentiment on KTV party, you can't simply just assume that Chinese hot ladies are all working girls. So your opinion is pretty much invalid. It's not that unusual for Chinese people to order a lot of Chinese food to go at 9:00p.m., good look or not, male or female.

Most Chinese girls are working professionals indeed. But very few of them (the lowest ranked in the society) are in the adult entertainment work. Unfortunately, many of the morons think all hot Asian girls are hoes.

I was at a hostess bar in Oakland chinatown recently. It's on 14th street (north side of the street), approximately at Harrison. The street level has a glass door and lbby, with stairs leading downstairs to the left. Really gets active between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.

There is a main lounge area downstairs, as well as several karaoki party rooms. They have BEAUTIFUL sexy young girls in skin tight dresses.

Beyond that, I don't know the system. I believe you just request a girl from the mamasan at the hostess bar. The girls that I saw were very fun, very affectionate, and draped themselves all over the guy they were assigned to. They would flirt with you and drink with you. They would periodically move from room-to-room. I assume tipping is expected.

I also think people are dreaming if they believe there is anything more than companionship offered. It isn't like there is some private area to sneak off to...

I don't see the the attraction of paying for this in a semi-public setting, but perhaps I just don't get it..

It's a Korean hostess bar at the corner of 14th and Alice. It was called Ka Gam when I used to go there from time to time. I was tolerated as a familiar Caucasian face, but I was never on the inside. Hostess bars are a whole different scene. You kind of had to be there. I would be interested in an update of how it is now, or any other Hostess bars around.

This place is closer to Harrison on 14th. It is currently Taiwanese owned. girls speak chinese and english. I'm told the tipping is optional (of course), but a typical fee for several hours of attentive companionship is a $100. If you want to tip less, it's up to you. If you want them to stay exclusively with you for your entire time there, maybe tip more. The girls I saw there were DDG, very young (21 to 25 y.o.) and dressed to kill in very tight cocktail dresses.

As a caucasion myself, it is somewhat of an awkward place. I've been with large groups of chinese friends, but then everyone is yapping away in chinese....

I'm would think on a slow night you could order a drink, select a companion girl, and sit with her in a quiet corner. Might be worth a shot....

Was that supposed to be a question or a statement? And different in what perspective? It's easier to find parking in Oakland Chinatown, and that's pretty much all the difference that I can think of.

It's not unusual for Chinese people to order a lot of Chinese food from a restaurant for to go, good looking or not.

There are a few AO houses in Oakland. Notice I said "AO".

They wouldn't be caught in an old van. The least is a high end European model. Majority of them have it delivered. Seen too many times where the deliver guys comes skipping out of the place with that smirk in their faces.
