Here is what I read from Yelp's review:

"Also, it seems some shady business goes on here. I've been told that L'Amour is a "hostess bar," where women work there chatting up men and getting them to buy them drinks. Ok fine, but this past weekend I took a group of friends there and we witnessed it go a little further. At one point one of my friends turned to me and said 'umm...look over there in the corner...?" and sure enough, one of the dudes I had seen at the bar a few minutes before with one of these ladies was getting a HAND JOB from her right out in the open, underneath a lamp in a corner, so everything was perfectly lit. This hj went on for over 20 minues and they didn't budge, even though we were all obviously gawking and cracking up."

I wonder if the review is real!

I've spent all too much time and money at this place.

Beer for you is $6. Girls want you to buy them "wine" (might just be grape juice) for $12. But if you push you can get away with buying a "single" (tea in a shot glass) for $6. Be clear that you are only buying singles before you say okay to the first drink. Re-iterate this with every drink. When the waitress brings drinks to your table she expects a tip of $1 for each drink she serves.

If you are a first timer, they will chug their drink and ask for another in a couple minutes. I put them on a schedule, tell them I will buy a single every half hour or twenty minutes, depending on how desperate they are. If there are lots of other customers, you might have to buy a drink every twenty minutes, if the place is empty, you can get away with every half hour. I like to go early in the week when they have less business.

Be firm, but respectful, these girls see themselves as down on their luck. Back in China they were nurses, bus drives and welders. They don't see themselves as hookers. Don't be crude or disrespectful.

There is no set rate at which you tip. I give the girl a $5 tip every time I buy her a drink. This keeps her interested. She knows you aren't going to stiff her. When you get up to leave, every girl you sat with will run to catch you before you get to the stairs, to "say good bye". They expect another tip at this time. I give them another $5 though $2 or $3 would probably work here. This is how I do it and they seem to be happy to sit with me. You could try doing two or three dollars a whack and see. Let me know if you are able to set a lower bar.

They will give you a phone number if they like you. I have seen some of them outside of the club, but only got it on with one. As far as I know there is no equivalent to a Pataya "bar fine".

They have lots of tricks for special circumstances, too much to go into here.
