A 20 tip for no extra is a good tip; I would say about right, although others may argue it is too much.

Totally laughed the other day when I overheard the AMP client saying to add $5 to the house fee as a tip when they were running the CC.
And, acted like it was a generous favor to even offer a tip...

A $20 tip for a no frills massage is generally customary, but if the house fee is above normal then you might decide otherwise. The masseuse gets a piece of the door and if that "entry fee" is above the norm then it's reasonable to consider a lesser tip. Remember however, that the quality of the massage is also part of the equation.

If it is one of these $45 an hour Chinese places, then figure $10 is over 20%, so I'd say $14-$20 is more than good. Yhe place I go to, the women get 50% of the door, or $22.50 for an hour, and it is mostly cash/tax free...

But consider what some of these self deluded/infatuated types in Marin want, you know the old white women with the Indian name their "spiritual teacher" in Oregon gave them...they want like $80-100/hr, and they usually suck. The Thai Massage place in Mill Valley is good, but they charge like $85/hr.

So all in all, $45+20 is a deal if the massage is good.

If it was a just OK massage, I would tip $20. For CMT quality, $40 or more. $22.50 is not a lot for an hours work (hard physically). I don't think even $40 is too much. If it were me, I would want $60-$100 for an hour massage. I used to see someone who liked really hard deep tissue massages. My hand and fingers hurt afterward. She liked me to dig my knuckle into her muscles. And I only did it for half hour or less. If I were to charge for that service for an whole hour, $100 would be a good figure.

But most massages are not as physically demanding. Just a little rubbing and massaging. So at an AMP for a non-CMT quality massage, $20-$40. If the massage was CMT grade, $40-$60 should be reasonable. On top of the house fee of course.

Then for extras (if available), $20-$40 for a HJ (add at least another $20 for nude with touching), $60-$80 for BJ and $100-$120 for FS.

You'd get much better service if you tip generously. Especially on subsequent visits. Of course if her service (massage) sucked, $20 would be good enough.

I have to disagree with a few points 1)22.50/hr CASH is a decent wage, day laborers work very hard for that or less. Add in a $10-20 tip and the hourly wage is phenomenal when you consider taxes are not being with held in many cases. It is far more than most people earn who pay taxes, and they are making it tax free. Figure the commission of 22.50 (example) is the same as $34+ an hour paying taxes. Add the tip of $10-20 and that range jumps to $45+-$60+/hr paying taxes. in that perspective, someone with a massage certificate is earning a per hour income that is pretty damned good.

My experience is, Asian run places aside, most massage "therapists" are basically lazy people who want to make a lot of money fast, doing as little as possible. They will do 10-15 hours a week, for $100/hr (talkin' those Marin county hippies again ) and then fuck off to Harbin or wherever. The Chinese run places seem to jump from client to client with little or no rest in between. I hang out with a woman who works in one of these places, her 5 day take home is amazing!

2) Tipping does NOT ensure anything. I have had more crappy massages than good, and they, in many cases still expected an enormous tip. Additionally, tipping does not guarantee better treatment on return visits. In fact, I find the more I go to a place, the more likely they are to take short cuts on time and or quality. I was a regular at a place in El Cerrito for a long time...then the service just dropped off, despite decent tips with the regular. She yaks out loud to others, disrupts my massage to answer the phone etc...so in short...the place is off my list.

Your prices for extras seem about right. I am talking about a massage no extra only type place.

That may be true. But don't forget, we are talking about the SEX industry (or entertainment industry). Entertainers and sports figures have a whole different set of rules. A hit song can net a singer a couple of million in royalties. A baseball or basketball player can make 5 million and up per year. Some movie stars make 20 million per picture. Other stars make do with 1-2 million per picture. Super models make millions posing for pictures and strutting up and down a runway. If you have skill, luck, beauty and/or brains, normal rules do not apply to how much you can earn. Women in the sex business are no different. They have a precious commodity that men want. Their bodies. If you want it, it'll cost you. Even in the civie world. Just more subtle (you feed, clothe, provide housing, entertain, then pay alimony when she divorces you).

Yes, it's true that being a generous tipper does not guarantee better service. But being a lousy tipper will for sure not earn you any browny points. It's like at a restaurant. Servers remember lousy tippers and adjust service accordingly.

If you don't like the service, go somewhere else. If she doesn't have the skills, attitude and/or looks, giving her a few extra bucks isn't going to help.

No, we were talking about a regular therapeutic massage with NO EXTRAS...as in NO SEX.

"They have a precious commodity that men want. Their bodies. If you want it, it'll cost you. Even in the civie world. Just more subtle (you feed, clothe, provide housing, entertain, then pay alimony when she divorces you)."

Damned right! Which is why I say it is never free...but some guys refuse to believe that. This is why I prefer the pay as I go plan.

"But being a lousy tipper will for sure not earn you any browny points. It's like at a restaurant. Servers remember lousy tippers and adjust service accordingly."

Problem is, most service in restaurants sucks these days, and they still expect a 20% tip for it. What I have found with being a regular is it almost breeds contempt for you, they cut service and treat you like crap because they figure you will keep coming back. That seems to be a norm with a lot of service related places these days.

Other than that, I agree with you.

Were you dropped on your head when you were born? 20.00 tip is a misery, the brotherhood usually open their wallets and let the masseuse grab as many bills as she feels her services are worth.

For legit massages the tip should be 20% to 25% of the cost of the service. Recently I have been going to a legit place charging between $40 to $50 for a hour quality massage.

I have always tipped $10 and have always been thanked for tipping that amount. 20% tip for good service is on the generous side. I consider all service providers as the same. Would you tip your waiter or waitress 50%?; your barber?

You really need waitress or barber to survive. OTOH, there are many people they never see a masseuse in their life time. Sex and drug trades are different then other essential services. This erotic service is not for regular Joe the plumbers. It is for men of class. 50% tip for a sensual massage is justified. The masseuses need al l the luxuries that they can think of out of their tax free income. But the waitress or barbers can live mendicant lives. The masseuses are special birds of paradise they deserve way more than those hard working egoistic loosers.

For legit massage tips run from nothing to $40. Tip prevelence runs about as follows: nothing 25%, $10 33%, $20 25%, the balence is all over the place. My SO is does legit massage, not even I get a happy ending from her .

Yeah, $20 tip for a no-frill is what I usually give. But if the RA gives crappy massage but asks for more than $20 for tip, I usually don't repeat, especially when I realize some of these folks make more than I do in a day LOL

Just ran into a problem with that at RCAM. No extras received, so I tipped $15 for a good massage. MT insisted minimum tip was $40, unless I misunderstood. But she was clearly unhappy about it and had her hand out for more money. I finally gave her $20, but she was still visibly unhappy about it.

I would always tip $20 minimum for a legit massage.
If I have a little connection with the girl, then I'll tip $40.
Now, if she is also a friend & I date her outside, then I tip $60-100.
