I may or may not watch it. From the promos it looks like they only interviewed the uneducated and desperate women in the business. The weepy woman who says that she hates herself or the skinny tweeker who claims to be repulsed by sex....the whole thing will annoy me Im afraid. I know too many women, and men actually, who will not be represtented at all in the "NEWS" story. I get it that there are women who will identify with those interviewed, but its just unfair to only show one side. I bet you could find tons of 6th grade teachers who want to jump out windows too, it makes a better story.
We all want dirty laundry and sad people to make our lives feel better.

I have no interest in watching the show whatsoever. We've already read countless newspaper and magazine articles re: prostitution, and also seen past TV shows and local news on the same subject. There are even two or three old threads in this website that I can recall discussing about as to why women/young ladies find themselves resort in this oldest profession.


So, to me, the(20/20) show is nothing to be excited about!!

It's sweeps month for the networks and ABC needs help badly and figures this would be timely with all that has happen with the NY Gov. If I didn't have to work I still wouldn't watch I hate ABC and there news Dept and Diane Sayer puts me to sleep . This will NOT be a
fair view of the true hobby as all of us know it . It's B/S If they really wanted a good interview they should have loogged on RB and pay either of us 1000 plus for a real interview. Hell if I want to learn about the bunny ranch I'll watch HBO.

We better hope they never find out about the realities of the redbook community. How a group of fairly normal Joes and Janes have found each other through the wonders of the internet and set up an elaborate organized system for the two to come together for NSA carnal pleasures. How we are approaching 150,000 membership. How peoples husbands, wifes, boyfriends, and girlfriends are involved. This is a scary thought to me. It's probably inevitable that it will be exposed one day. It will be big news.

   "This is probably a different point of view -but it is just common sense... the reason prostitution is illegal especially in the U.S. is because this is an industry that women can make MORE money than men and always has been. Men can not control their sexual urges so they are willigng to PAY FOR 'IT'. Women have control so they do not have to pay for "it" they can get it for free any time. The reason women are so devasted by this proffession is because we make it seem so dirty - IT IS NOT! It is just a very different job from every other profeesssion that women are still breaking into, but as statistics will confirm they are not being paid the same as men for the same job - except in prostitution. Prostitution is one job that women make more than men do and men do not want women to excel - so they use demeening words to describe it and treat these women like dirt. If society would raise this proffession to the level it should be and make it legal then women would not suffer in this proffession - IT IS NOT GOING AWAY. It would then truley be a proffession that women choose for the salary instead of because they can not do anything else. I'm sure some are better at "it" than others. It's too bad for men that women do not NEED to "pay" for "it" but men do. It is a REAL job and morals should not be brought into it. Women will have to decide for them selves. I am sure some have thought "why is this so bad? he wants to pay for it, I don't have a problem doing it - so what's the big deal? It comes down to if the person has any religious convictions, that is totally personal. One of Jesus's best freinds was a prostitute. He may not have agreed with her choice-but he did not judge her. Don't get me wrong I am not a religeous freak and am not going to go off on this particular topic. If every MAN would treat every woman with respect and worth -then prostitution would be a good paying and respected proffession for women everywhere. Women need to take control!"

Well the interviews were 2-3 years old. They have been compiling the data/information and felt it was a good time to air due to the Spitzer scandal...

This 2 hour special showed all sides of the business, from the bunny ranch to the girls on the street, to the girls getting pimped, to the girls on high end websites, to the girls marrying for money. It was very informative.

They also went back and talked to people they had interviewed for a follow up to make it as current as possible

If the hobbyists don't want to watch fine. But good providers that want to know as much about their business as possible to either enhance their business, or keep them out of trouble, or even for self security purposes they could've have watched and came to their own conclusion that maybe their life or what they go thru on a day to day isn't so bad - there are people out there doing worse that you! (ALWAYS)


People go to seminars to get ahead in their business. I looked at this as a seminar and I learned some shit so I'm glad I watched. Besides, it wasn't like shit else was on anyway. New shit doesn't start coming on till next week!

I'm not sure if this link will work, but all the videos are on ABC.com so no worries if you missed the interview or didn't record them. Some of it's good, other parts are bullshit, but the "courtesan" interviewed is a brilliant woman and an Internet friend of mine. I've not had the pleasure of meeting her since I moved to CA from the east coast. She was affiliated with The Emperors Club which is why the media went after her. She has a phenomenal blog extremely popular in the blogosphere, which the media also found, and I suppose she felt she could add something positive to the story. I think she did a good job representing all us providers/companions and I think it was a terribly brave thing for her to do.
