I just Got a text from April - The One You Need AKA MYHEALINGTOUCH

She said she was robbed and they stole her laptop.

She requested I post this ASAP

   Good to know she is safe. Thanks for the alert. Hopefully sercurity codes were place on the software to make it difficult for hackers to break in. Never store personal or sensitive information on a computer. Best of luck to you Myhealingtouch

Here's info: Name- Chris called from 916-396-99xx, a womans name came up on the caller ID (Denise Frazxxx).

He used this number to pass through ref check : 916-237-76xx


MOB tat on his hand etc....

After I had my laptop stolen, I loaded this up on my new one.

It's free, open source, and platform independent. You register with the site, Identify your computer, and set your status. You install a little program that runs as a service on your machine. Unless a thief knew where to look, they'd never know it was there. Any time there's an active internet connection on your laptop, it checks the status on the website. If you have changed the status to stolen, it snaps a pic of the user and uploads it to the site with the ip address of the connection. If I recall, I think the site will even send you an email if an upload occurs.

IF ANYONE HAS EMAILS FROM HERE THAT SHE SENT ON HER LAPTOP THE IP ADDRESS CAN BE FOUND THREW THOSE EMAILS AND CAN BE TRACED BACK TO WHO HAS THE LAPTOP NOW...I WAS WATCHING THE PHILLIP MARKOFF THING AND THEY DID THE SAME THING WITH A STOLEN LAPTOP....OOOPS CAPS..

Not sure how they did it with Markhoff, but unless I'm mistaken, the IP is dynamically assigned by the proxy server at the hotel, cafe, etc, where the laptop is connected. It wouldn't be the same as the IP in April's email headers, unless the thief was connecting at the same establishment as April did.

Somebody wanna chime in on that?

Ah, googled an article about it:

"The virtual IP address led detectives to an apartment in Quincy, a suburb just outside Boston, and specifically, to an apartment belonging to Philip Markoff."

They were able to catch him because he was using his own internet connection.

   You need to know the MAC address not the IP address unless you have access to the ISP data base which they do give out unless you are LE and have a supeana (Spelling??)

I have a buddy who tracks hackers and hacks for the state. I will ask him if there is a an easy way to do it
