I’ve written a lot about the divine masculine and the divine feminine. I think they are important concepts to work with in this world that is so focused upon separation – male and female, black and white, Christian and Muslim, good and evil, body and spirit, us and them. There must be an honoring of both sides in order for healing to occur.

But there is a deeper truth, at least in my opinion. Ultimately, there is no separation. There is only oneness, when we get right down to the deepest reality. We call it many names – All-That-Is, Spirit, the Divine, God, the Goddess. All the names point to the same place – something that is bigger than we are, that gives meaning to existence.

Somehow, from this vast, infinite expansive oneness, we split into duality in order to incarnate. The DNA spiral is the basic model of this. But did you know that same DNA spiral is repeated on a greater scale? According to yogi and tantrikas, the main energy channels in the body look like the caduceus, the symbol for medicine – two serpents twining around a central channel. If you are tuned in enough and your energy is activated it is possible to feel these spirals of energy moving. I have felt them many many times myself.

There is an even bigger spiral that I’m aware of. The star system Sirius is traveling through space describing a DNA spiral with our Sun. How’s that for some perspective? It is truly a holographic universe.

My challenge these days is to keep both truths in mind – the awareness of the infinite oneness and the ability to function in this 3D world that we call real, which includes duality. It seems to be the human task, to live in both worlds. Sometimes I jokingly say, “What was I thinking? Why did this seem like such a good idea?” But there is beauty in it all.
