The suicide girls used to be all the rage, but I haven't heard anything recent. Are they still around?
And is that "punky, suicide girl" really that appealing to guys? It seems like an acquired taste for some guys but not others. Guys, thoughts?

The Suicide Girls put out a couple of movies that were chopped up and aired on Showtime. Kind of unwatchable.

The look is ever popular and is pretty common with the younger girls in the SF area. I think one reason you don't see so many posts these days looking for a girl with tattoos! Usually now, it is just the opposite.

I tend to like girls with lots of good ink. Unfortunately, there is lots of trashtastic ink these days. Hint, if the tattoo includes lettering, well...

You my dear, only here to Sept. 1st? Where have you been hiding? At least you are local in Marin.

there's many a "suicide girl" type to be found at any mall in America these days that has a Hot Topic store...

no disrespect to all the fine gals here on RB with their pretty body art n'stuff, but, just gotta point out the reality of what was a originally a subculture that got co-opted by a mainstream that saw a good opportunity for large level $ucce$$.

www.nofauxxx.com

local, created & run by my friend & not sponsored by corporations. if that sort of thing matters to you.

You mean, like straights co-opted the disco scene from gays?

As for suicide girl types, I find them more arousing to look at, than to be with.

Be the change
you wish to see

I mean more like what began (rather loosely, in terms of the SG site specifically) as a political & social movement that disintegrated into a presentation based solely/largely on aesthetic without the socio-political context behind it.

If we were taking this from an ethnic signifier read, for example, Gwen Stefani's bindi wearing and white people buying "tribal" and Asian character tattoos would be a next door neighbor analogy to what I'm talking about (obviously the latter being more problematic than the co-opting of "punk"-- but still pretty yuck).

Dick Hebdige's 1979 classic "Subculture:The Meaning of Style" probably has some good stuff I could reference here but my copy is in my NYC storage locker.
