"OT: Any proofreaders in the house?"

Folks in Gainsville, FL, are upset because a recent edition of the off-campus paper, the Alligator, carried a typographical error.

I say no harm, no foul. Here's the offending paragraph:

"The Delta Gamma girls wore sailor caps, and the Alpha Epsilon Phi ho wore similar green and white ones."

"Alpha's" are straight male fraternal organizations.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_Phi_Alpha

"Delta/Alpha/Lambda/Gammas" are gay, bi-male and
trans-gender, fraternal organizations but are also identified by lesbian, bi, butch and transgender collegiate organizations.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Gamma

"Sororities" are usually straight, female organizations but possess Alpha, Gamma, Sigma, Pi and Delta identifications.

I wonder what an "Alpha Epsilon Phi Ho" is?

Is this a "male ho" (in college) that not only EXCELS at DATY but Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as well?

Wow.

There are probably a lotta college girls that would pay a hot guy to get them off AND help them with their homework!

I wish I had a TA or tutor like that when I was doing my upper division work!

Damn...

What campus is Deuce Bigalo - "Alpha-male-Epsilon-Gigolo"
working on? Where can he be located? Is he on Facebook? lol

I could use a little help when I get to masters' level psychological statistics.

The baccalaureate level was challenging enough!

I needed help then - and I will definitely need help once I take the ADVANCED version of that crazy class once again.

I will be screening applicants next summer. IB me...

It's always Summer at my place!

The copy should have read "hopefuls," according to the editor of the Alligator.

that's my only input to what's already been shared here.
