Thanks,

Scent free Jojoba Oil for me. You can get it online at the Vitamin Shoppe or at Trader Joes off the shelf.

16. "jojoba oil"
In response to message #1

i agree. if i were getting a massage and being oiled, i'd prefer jojoba oil, or a blend of jojoba oil, coconut oil and shea butter. one reason is that these oils do not tend to go rancid, so no preservatives are necessary. the preservatives used in other products include methylparaben and propylparaben, both of which remain in the body and have been found in cancerous breast tissue, therefore have been linked to cancer risk. (if you are concerned about disinfencting, a small amount of grapefruit seed extract added to the oil will keep bacteria, viruses and fungi from setting up shop there).

the massage therapist can keep an extra bottle on hand, and some smaller ones to make up a little batch with essential oils if the client likes a scent. better yet, aromatherapy in the room via diffuser is a good way to add a scent-ual experience!

It's probably good to have two bottles on hand: one for oralio, and another for the guys with the SO's... ;)

hugs,

I know when I have a great experience and there is a pleasant scent present, then every time I come across that scent it reminds me of the good time I experienced.

Yeah, Biotone's Dual Purpose Massage Cream works really great and it doesn't really smell like anything. It's cheap too! You can buy a gallon of it for around $60!

I tend to have a variety of essential oils on hand, but my main massage oil base is water dispersible, non-allergenic, and a non scented blend. Its a pain to get massage oil out of your linens, your clothes and the clients clothes sometimes. And I have had a few incidents where a client was allergic to a certain blend and broke out in a rash.
But starting with a plain base oil and then blending to the clients liking is usually how I go.

~bliss~its 4:19, got a minute?

Some of us are unfortunate that we have allergies which act up with most scented products. With this in mind, my vote is for UNSCENTED ALWAYS!

Unscented or I walk. Allergies(severe) + SO. I also can't see a provider who wears perfume for the same reasons.

Definitely unscented. It's awful when you get something which might be nothing for one person and then over-powering for another like myself. And vice-versa, is my cologne too strong? Let me take a shower first.

With a paranoid SO, I must have unscented oil even for a therapeutic massage. I prefer one particular oil or lotion from Biotone that easily emulsifies with water so that it washes off easily.

Yeah, right! I want to go back to work or home smelling like a French whorehouse (as the saying goes). Buy a clue.
