KajunI got a heads up about Femdom Day. The woman who started it is a dungeon owner in St. Louis area, and is giving a big party in honor of it--$10 admission for femdoms, $50 admission for male submissives. My informant, who used to be a client of said femdom (and of me) is convinced it's a purely money making scheme. I have to say, it sounds like that to me, too.
Now I don't actually know this woman, nor have I ever heard of her. But it sounds rather suspicious to me. Especially since the only people who seem to really jump on the bandwagon for this holiday are the guys, usually not actually in the scene, who write to those of us who are very visible in the lifestyle and demand we have a party, or make an announcement, or do something public for this holiday. People finally stopped writing to me after I made a couple of negative announcements on Fetlife about this, but they're still writing and whining to other dommes I know insisting that it's our duty to do something for this holiday. (Just think about it: if it's in our honor, why should we do the work of setting up a party.)
This woman, with the help of some male submissives, have spammed this faux holiday to nearly every group on Fetlife that has anything remotely to do with female dominants. Now that I got the message from my friend, I'm even less inclined to do anything about this new invention.
I will be vending at Dore Alley, though.
