Well..if you want privacy, Stanfords is large inside and has secluded booths w/low lighting. Located in Broadway Plaza close to parking structure.

It's a little out of your geographical range, but can't be beat for privacy: a pitch black restaurant served by blind waiters...

KC,

I've been intrigued by this place for a bit. Is it safe to assume you've been there? If so, read on.

My quandary is that while I understand how the concept works (along with a general understanding that you probably don't wear your nicest outfit-because you will make a mess), my question to you is . . .

How does one get escorted to their table? I get the fact the patrons sitting can potentially make a bit of a mess but I wouldn't want the hassle of figuring out how to eat in the dark and worry about people bumping and tripping over me. Seems dangerous.

What was your experience?

---

Back on topic . . .

Stanfords is a pretty good choice. Another advantage is that they have a late night menu (if that is applicable for you). If memory servies, I think you can order until midnight or 1am midweek.

Undoubtedly the wait staff have a mental map of the place and guide the sighted. It's a wonderful reverse of the norm.

You pay in a lite area after the meal. The uniform size of our bills is a regular source of scams on the blind here. It has been one of their communities complaints for eons.

Romance or business? A number of restaurants have rooms that can be reserved at no cost for large groups.

I get that D.

My concern is that an already seated patron could be cutting into something and someone walking by could trip or bump into the table resulting in a laceration.

It won't stop me from going as I understand the food is well prepared and I presume the dark enhances sense of taste.

Vic Stewarts's in Walnut Creek is THE best for privacy. Call ahead and reserve a dining car room, they are initimate tables in a train car, complete with a door so you are assured complete privacy while enjoying a five-star meal. Very romantic.

Television made me what I am.
