"Spoofed numbers are now illegal !!"

www.http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=111_cong_bills&docid=f:h1258rh.txt.pdf

Telephone Consumer Protection Act 2010
the House has passed the bill "Truth in Caller ID Act of 2010" [PDF], H.R. 1258, an amendment to the Communications Bill of 1934. The bill effectively bans caller spoofing in the U.S.
The bill makes it illegal "to cause any caller ID service to transmit misleading or inaccurate caller ID information, with the intent to defraud and deceive." It applies to both land lines and voice-over-IP networks (VoIP) and any other "real time voice communications service, regardless of the technology or network utilized."

now the fun begins......................

The bill still has to be reconciled with the Senate version and signed by the President.

Prostitution is illegal too.
Pretty obvious how effective that legislation has been.

Right on! Funny though, the other day I sited the fact that it was illegal to engage in something as one of the many reasons that I steer clear of it ("it" being something related to a specific act when with hobbyists. The person on the other end of the conversation reminded me with a smile that the whole thing is illegal, to which I said "Oh. Good fucking point!". We both laughed hysterically. Blond moment your post brought to mind.

Carry on!

What's the difference between spoofing and a forwarding service like google voice?
