"Providers are asking for references only from past 6 months"

I just find it weird now that providers are asking for references only from the past 6 months
and anything over that they will not accept. Its like there's some expiration date on the accountabilty of references now. I don't hobby as much due to time , economic constraints
or not finding that right person so its not like I can partake every three months in order to have a good amount of current references to use.

Though not the majority by far, there are some providers that are quite low volume, and do to that and many other characteristics that are quite different from the vast majority of providers, most of those they see are not prolific hobbyists'. Most of those I see are both regulars and men that have very little to do with RB or any other similar site. They have usually seen a provider at some point in their past, but not in the last 6 months or even last few years when they contact me. These men tend to be far more selective, like to exchange quite lengthy, detailed emails and a phone call/calls after comfortable with the emails in choosing who they will see. This is perfect for me because they understand the fact that I do exactly the same thing with them. If we mutually feel that we seem like a great match, we proceed to actually seeing each other. References play zero part in this initial process, as they wouldn't offer any useful information to me. I already have far more then what is learned in my own process, as do they about me.

I think perhaps one way to identify that a provider is somewhat likely to be as I described above is if she has pretty big amounts of time between her reviews compared to most, but her reviews are very positive. Most of these type women and the men they see are not big on writing reviews, so that is the cause of this particular review pattern.

Anyway, I hope that was somewhat helpful.

This little hobby world we occupy is evolving and changing constantly. A girl might drop in and drop out for all kinds of reasons. Some of those reasons are not condusive to her having a long memory for your personal ass, no offense. Not every girl keeps notes or a journal that she can refer back to. The one you want to use as a reference has to be a current worker for those reasons, someone who has seen you recently enough for her to remember you, and someone who is probably still working so she can be reached.

If you don't hobby often, you probably remember every single session you've had in the last year, at length and in detail. Not so for us. Even so-called low volume girls are seeing ten clients for every one girl you see. Unless we are keeping notes on every session, we are not going to remember someone named "barf" or whatever from sometime last summer. Unless you barfed ON her, and then your reference would not be positive, I think.

I don't require references but I suppport the reference system *and* I support every worker's right to run her business the way she thinks is best. Her safety is hers and she is the one who had better take care of it. When she has a danger, you are not going to be there to protect her, so you don't get to tell her how to run her show. No offense. Really I am not trying to attack you, I'm just trying to explain why you are having this experience that you don't like, and sometimes I get a little heated.

Gretchen

I have no problem with the reference system. I think it works great in order to keep the providers safe and makes the clients feel more confident of seeing that person .
I'm just ranting on the fact some providers are not accepting my references from longer than 6 months so its just a rant . And yes , the providers don't have to remember me for reference checks but it be nice if they did.

Those are all great points to explain the importance of the system for some people, and some I had never thought of at all. But what if the girls he is using for reference are still around and do recall his visit?

To the poster, are the references you are giving still active and responsive if someone were to try to obtain a reference? If so, then I see no reason why they shouldn't accept your references.

Usually these are high volume low end hoes

So true. A low volume girl sees about 3-4 a week, 10 a month, with 30% repeats, easily sees a couple hundreds a year.

>Unless we are keeping notes on every session,

Girls, do keep your black book organized. Economy is bad, ideal time to start a good habit.

Happily ever after, still?

Just throwing in my two cents ; I don't see high volume, low end providers whom I should assume won't remember me. I see upscale so I'd assume they'd value me as a repeat .

I have been asking for the same from my private forum membership applicants. A policy introduced by a very smart founding provider moderator.

ref from an active and known providers he met within 6 month with multiple positive reviews is the requirement.

Over 6 month, it is hard for women to recognize the applicant plus it tends to become very time consuming for the reference woman.

I support the reference system and understand why its in place but if it doesn't work for you..move on! Lots of GREAT providers on Rb who do not require references that are affordable and willing to travel and acomodate you. Don't let "references" spoil the fun for you. Search through the ads and skip the ones that are attractive and require references. Best of luck to you

I know that I ask for current references, current as in within a year... because over a year and the guy could have changed, did something to other providers such as ROB or hurt them, start flaking, or no showing, etc... I cant really feel comfortable taking a reference from a woman he saw say 2 yrs ago, because sooo much can change in 2 yrs...

The same goes for me, I do not provide references for a client to other providers if I have not seen him in over a year, because again I can not be a reliable current reference on his personality..

That request doesn't seem out of line. If you have not seen your reference for a year or two she may not be around to respond. Even if she is available, the probability that she would remember you after such a long absence is low unless something remarkable happened in your session with her.
