"The irony of Tom Cruise"

In "Jerry Maguire", Cruise's character told the truth, and as a result lost his talent, and his job.

In real life, Cruise told a lot of Scientology propaganda, while he lost his talent, and as a result lost his job.

but he didn't lose his job, he only lost one of his employers.

I'm not sure the irony works...in JM, Cruise's character was right, and he was admired by almost all his coworkers.

I don't think that most big actors in hollywood admire his Scientology stance, nor believer that he's right.

Well he lost his employer and all but two of his clients, I take a slight liberty.

That's what I meant... feel free to rework it...

As far as 'working', I don't think he really lost his job. I truly beleive the reason that deal fell apart was because of money. Cruise had a 7 year, sweetheart deal that paid him very, very well. Paramount wasn't going to do another deal like that because studios just are going to pay those huge amounts. If the deal would have been a 5 year deal (instead of 7) this would have happened two years ago, before all his weirdness, and the result would be the same.

Tom can get a movie with a studio if he really, really wants to work. I would think within two years max, he'll be on the big screen once again.

true, and if he really feels like working, he can pump up his existing production company and continue producing, not only his own stuff, but other stuff as well.

Ok ok dudes, you're right, I was only stretching it to the analogy, I know the background.

PS Today's bizarre news: noone has still publicly seen their baby Suri, but a bronze sculpture of her first stool(?) is for sale on eBay:
