Hi gang, Thank goodness for Redbook's wisdom appointing two mods. I was in an accident last week, suffering a triple fracture in my legs. I am pinned up at the moment, but will try to keep up at leisure. Cheera, Kathy Rose

I am sorry to hear that. I am not sure you got multiple fractures on your femurs or tibia/fibula. Wish I was there, I could perform multiple radiographic images on your bilateral lower extremities FOR FREE. Vnese people believe that we should not eat beef or shrimps after the surgery or during the healing process, because beef will more likely produce the scars with hyper pigmentation and shrimps will more likely causing the scars develop keloids.
Foods for healthy bones.
1. Non-fat dairy products. They are a good source of calcium, an essential mineral which is important to bone health.
2. Non-dairy calcium-rich foods. Sardines, canned salmon (with bones), dark leafy greens, whole soy foods like tofu, and calcium-fortified products such as soymilk and orange juice are good calcium-rich options for those who don’t eat dairy.
3. Whole vegetables and fruit. They provide potassium, magnesium, vitamin C and beta carotene, all of which have been linked to higher total bone mass.
4. Food sources of magnesium. Spinach, tofu, almonds, broccoli, lentils, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds are good sources of this essential mineral, which is vital for healthy bones.
Avoid too much protein intake and cut back on caffeine and sodium.

Ditto to what Ven said, but do not forget the curative powers of a penis. Get well.

My MD here is a fortyish MILF named Liu. My Braunschweiger doesn't need a steel rod. I'll just tell her it's just German Lop Cheung. Reports from the field to follow. KR PS - this is actually the second through forth fracture this summer. I just got over a practice one.

OMG! Kathy I'm sorry to hear of your accident.
Well look at the bright side, you will now get to spend lots of time on your back with your legs in the air, and fortunately you didn't break a really important appendage.
GET WELL SOON!
Hugs, TS Jamie
PS: So does this mean you will have time to join us in chat?

Holy Shit!! The pain must be horrible....I've never met you but I still feel the hurt you must be going thru. Of course in my sick way I can imagine you laid up in full traction in a hospital bed, helpless as I take advantage of you...hehehehe
I eat Motrin like candy, and when that doesn't work, if I can get some Vicaden, I'm sure you have good pain killers, I like to wash them down with a nice cold beer followed by a tasty brandy or cognac, lie down on the couch, have the tv on low volume, or background music, and turn off the cell phone, and just zone out. Take care.
Many years ago I had a back operation to remove a benign tumor on my lower spine. I was given a morphine injection by one of the sexiest Asian nurses I've ever seen after the operation to relieve the pain. The morphine instantly placed me in a feeling of nirvana. As the effects wore off the next day and I was again feeling some pain I pressed the button to call the nurse back and ask for another shot of morphine. Unfortunately she said she could not administer another dose at that time as it would be an overdose for me. But I felt good anyway just seeing her again and having her gently holding my hand and stroking my forehand to comfort me. Sometimes nurses are even better than morphine!
Yup. I have a standing order for Vicodin per my spine surgeon. Really try not to take it very often as I earn my income with my brain and the drugs can mess that up.
Spinal Fusion (L-4, L-5) but those fixes are pretty much temporary as other things follow and are actually exacerbated by the fusion. Just get to live with it.
A bottle of good red wine before bed makes an effective pain killer for the night's sleep.
I hope that someday they can invent a drug that has no side effects/ no addictions....Humans have been gettin' high since day one. They say they were high when they built the pyramids.
It'll never happen. Pharmaceutical companies want their products to be addictive so they can keep on selling them. As long as our government is the corporate whores that they are, nothing will change.
Ironic that you'd call this thread "Endless Summer"....The movie is on FuelTV right now....Did the crash give you the gift of being able to see into the future??? Wow!!
Thanks for all the inboxes and comments. I am told I will be in rehab another one to six weeks. I took my first step today with a walker, wheelchair behind me, two spotters - ready to grab support belts around me. It was a tiny three inch step forward, and then immediately back in the chair.
Someone mentioned an Endless Summer song. I had that in mind for the title of the thread, but this is a sort of anti-deadman's curve/anti-cool song. I'll post it when I get home, as it is not available since the digital age.
There are a few hunks here that I would like to make whimper... or let them make me whimper. Dr. Liu came in, after a week in the Far East. Ravishing. One of the therapists has such an excellent pooper that there is no doubt she would win the Salami Hiding Contest - cheeks down!
After having installed my own Hotspot setup, connecting is easier now, but getting comfortable enough to type is rough. I banged up my shoulders as well as my legs, just did not suffer a break.
My SO brought one of my doggies (named Kitty) to see me. That made all of this more tolerable. Family driving 30 to 100 miles every other day to be with me really lifts my spirits.
I did try chat a few nights, but not long enough to see to many regulars.
Also getting freshly ripened tomatoes brought in from our back yard, which is the only thing that tells me it's summer.
With few problems, our forum has remained, for the most part, civil. I think Gwenythe called it the most civil in RB, and it is more relevant thanks to people putting their better person forward.
Hi Kathy, I didn't realize you were in the hospital. For some reason I thouhg you were at home. (Yeah with two broken legs... silly me.)
Glad to hear you are doing as well as can be expected. Keep at it!
And BTW you swiped the name for if I ever got a St. Bernard. I've always wanted to call here "kitty, kitty" and have this huge St. Bernard come running with it's cask of brandy.

Looks like I blow this berg in a week, gang. On a stretcher, but at least I am going home. I had been getting some of the residents to help tunnel out of this Hotel California, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and they are letting me out of here. Anyone remember Alice Cooper's Ballad of Dwight Fry? It gets that nutty sometimes. Got a book on Charcuterie while in here. Can't wait to try some recipes. Will try to come to chat more in the future, too. Kathy Rose http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7May_T5MgDs

My last night in this place. I don't know whether to call it an old folks' home, or a pretty good place. I have a list of things, not the least of which is to post the song, Endless Summer, for those who (in thread and inbox) have asked.
My last day here was a surprise. We had a funkalicious three piece band come in, playing the Blues, a la Robert Johnson, Sweet Home Chicago. I'll be damned if I didn't get asked to join the group. I did, and may be performing before I get out of this fargin' wheelchair. Maybe I'll even do a remake of the Dianna Ross movie, TS Sings the Blues. Funny that the GG in the group is taller than I am. Good! That's the first time I sang and played any instrument in twenty-five years. I think I vindicated myself well. Yeah, I'm rambling, but not pontificating. Everything is groovy. Catchy'all in a couple days when I get caught up at home. Kathy Rose (Sister Blue Eyes) Goodnight Leo Cheers, wherever you are.

All good things must come to an end or all endless summers must come to an end? I don't know, but congrats on playing an instrument for the first time in a long time and getting the heck outta there
