"VIP Newbie Question"

   Abebe

Hi:

Just a quick question: If I write to a provider via her redbook box is my personal email protected? I'm assuming she only gets my RB name but want to be sure.

Thanks

If you're writing to her RB inbox then the only thing that will be visible to her is your RB handle, subject & time you sent the inbox.

One piece of unsolicited advise. Don't PM providers here if you're going to review them. If you write a less-than-complimentary one, they have your handle which means you'll probably be hearing from them. Instead call or email them using a hobby=only phone or email account.

That's a great advice regarding writing unpleasant review.

But then a dilemma will arise: if you want to see a well-review provider, you'll need to provide her your handle with all references.

So what happened if the service wasn't very good. If you use your handle to give the well-review provider a less-than-stellar review, will all hell break loose? Black list? no more reference? negative points ....

I think that the issue with a lot of negative reviews is how poorly they're written.

One has to keep in mind that his negative review will have some on impact the provider's business. If it's a provider with otherwise good reviews, an honest, carefully worded (yet honest), non-emotional description of the events that caused the reviewer to have a less-than-stellar time is the best way to approach it. Sometimes two people just don't click. Sometimes one person is having a bad day. Details are important, but so is fairness.

Why would you ask for a reference from a provider to whom you've given an average or poor review? Clearly, if she was into the experience, she would have fucked your brains out but good.

Good points, Jimmy. I've been relatively successful in either seeing providers who don't require my hobby handle or, if they have to have it, I'll either take a pass or, if well-reviewed, give it up.

One thing I won't do is establish a second handle just for shitty reviews. If I was looking at a reviewer and only saw bad experiences, I would figure he's either a shithead and/or rival provider and not take his reviews seriously.

Not the way to go.

To avoid this problem some RB hobbyist will have a message board handle that is different from their review handle. For me personally I use the same handle for both purposes. When you have done a number of reviews which are mostly positive or at least average, the negative review is not going to have much influence on good providers. The one that you did a negative review on you don’t want to see her again, so what if she gets pissed. If she is smart, she will understand that sometimes people don’t click or they have an off day. Also, the feedback if genuine might help her improve her service.

As a side note, it’s interesting how some providers will get all in a snit and complain about a review on the public boards. There are two problems with this:

1. It surrounds the provider with drama which can often be detrimental to her business. Better to try and contact the hobbyist discreetly and privately to see if they can fix the misunderstanding, i.e., discounted make up session or just move on.

2. By Complaining publicly about her reviews, she is acknowledging them. If get into future LE or court issues this could be construed that she has admitted that she does for money those illegal activities described in them. Savvy providers do not mention, refer to, or discuss their reviews and thus can take the position that they have no control over the third party fantasies that men right about them.

If a provider feels that a review is fake or list activities that didn’t happen she can hit the alert button at the bottom of the review and explain the situation factually and concisely.
