"Mobile web surfing becoming popular"

The Chronicle had an article in the business section in which they observed that more and more people are using the iPhones, Blackberries, and other similar smartphones to do quick lookups on the web. From locating a store or nearest location to cheap gas prices in a neighborhood, a lot of the searches that used to be done on a notebook are now being done on smarp phones. In fact, Google has a separate search engine for mobile devices that will give preference to mobile sites.

I would imagine that this would be an ideal platform to look for escorts and other adult entertainers. Unlike my desktop or notebook, it is unlikely that a GF or SO would use a guy's cell phone to surf the net. After all, she has her own phone, doesn't she?

many corporate and media sites have mobile versions of their sites. So, it surprises me that most of the escort sites, including this one, are unfortunately not very well formatted for the small screens that these devices gve, as often, one either needs to scroll back and forth to see the page, or have to zoom in to be able to decipher the small character and pictures. I kinda like the odea being able to locate a girl on my Blackberry and iPhone....

Also, make sure that you connect only over the cell network and not via corporate WiFi (if you are on your personal phone) -- I'm not sure if BlackBerry can forward browsing history to an IT dept or not, but if you are connecting to their WiFi, that info can certainly be stored/audited.

Site works just fine on my iPhone. Every thing loads fast and my browsing history is easy to delete. Also the phone can be password locked.

Agree RB is fine on mobile devices. It may not be optimized for phones, but it's quick enough.

The main point that I wanted to make was that there are few sites that are "ready to view" on portable devices. My Blackberry for example, will show an RB page, but I have to click the zoom button three to for times to be able to read the small print, and at that point, if I wanted to see the rest of the page, I have to slide the image.

Just access the RB site on your mobile, and then go to m.cnn.com on your mobile. You will see right away what I am talking about. The CNN site is "ready to read": the whole page is immediately readable.

Nor do I need to do any additional adjustments to see everything clear on the iPhone formatted escort directory, which, by the way, works well on my Blackberry, as well as on Palm and other recent vintage smartphones. When I visit these dedicated mobile sites, I can access the information immediately without needing to do anything extra.

So, I am talking about site ergonomics.

You can format ANY page for a mobile browser using Google.

www.google.com/gwt/n

Try it.

Even those crappy browsers on Verizon phones work with it.

Good Luck !

I use my blackberry often to log on as I'm doing right now. The problem I have though is when I post a response as I'm doing now I can't get read posts after mine unless I re boot the phone which for my blackberry is removing the battery. Anyone else experience this and if so any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong which causes this. I probably won't be able to see your response until tomorrow.

Mongers might be interested in a new app in the iPhone app store specifically targeted at the hobby. It's called "iSplooge".

I've been using my iPhone to browse RB since they first came out. It's great for those days when I get off work early and decide I want to stop off and meet a provider on my way home. It's easy to delete browsing history, and I don't need to use my home or work computer. It's a little harder to do posting and such than with a real keyboard, but I hear some of the girls do just fine with it.

I have a RB search for a number of cities saved on my Iphone. It loads fast and easily. It is a little of a pain to log in and read reviews, but it is doable.
