"Is there a Hot Tub Scene?"
 
   Last year read an article about a hot tub place in SF that was closed because, according to someone interviewed, it was providing services. Recently read in a thread on this forum where someone mentioned providers lingering in the area of hot tubs.

I'm not asking for references to specific hot tubs. Just wondering... Is there a hot tub scene?

Doubt it. The only time hot tub places come into play is when a provider is using it as her incall. Of course, it might as well be an outcall as it's my experience that the hobbyist pays the rental fee.

Long time ago, some ladies seemed to hang around the Van Ness hot tub place, but no more.

Providers used to hang out in the lobby or in front of Grand Central (now closed). I don't remember seeing anyone in front of the Hot Tubs on VN. You might find someone waiting for their friend in the lobby prior to an appointment, but that's about it.

   I know u can have an outcall to a public Hottub place..
I know of 1 hottub place, but the providers do not hang out there
they only meet clients there.

hot tub is private room, containing a hot tub and a bed and u rent
it by the hour.

If your into that sorta thing.

Really? When did this happen? Any story behind the closure?

Not that it was an especially wonderful place, but it came in "handy" a couple of times in the past.

Not the Grand Central in South Bay, but the one in SF in the TL right off Market. It's (SF) been closed for some time now.

used to be, but that died out a long time ago. maybe at its height more than 10-15 years ago.

   If I am going to SF from Sac, do I need to arrange to meet a provider at the hot tubs or can I find one there as a walk in?

   The SF Hot Tubs on Van Ness accepts walk-ins. It's a great place too meet dates for appointments. Clean, showers, towels, bed's not great, but overall it's cheaper, safer, and less hassle than renting a room.

   Slightly off-topic, but has anyone tried the hot tubs in Santa Cruz? (listed on the hot-tub page).

If so, which if either would you recommend for bringing a girlfriend to? I'm wondering if either place has a place to lay down (bed or "yoga mat"), and the amount of privacy (can the rooms next door hear what's going on).

No, no, no! These are legit places that don't mind providers meeting dates there. $40/hr or $30 during off hours with a coupon. They also give you and extra 1/2hr during off hours:

What do you know about either Albany Tubs or Piedmont Springs? Are either of those viable outcall locations (or are they more upscale).
