   I have heard some of you guys mention meeting providers at mixers. How does one tap into this? I am in the Santa Rosa area.

   Mixers are an urban myth that we talk about to confuse the newbies. Even if they did exist you would need at least a hundred useful, intelligent posts to be even considered to be in on one.

I've heard that spending lots of money with well known providers, and submitting lots of reviews, sometimes trumps post count and/or schmoozing with anyone in particular.

I don't think you gotta be full of wind out here on the boards, you just gotta PROVE you're legit.....NOT a security risk........FREE of bs and drama........REASONABLY likeable and personable........and half ass NORMAL.

Usually the mixer experience is enhanced with future attendance. One can develop a nice To-Do-List from the providers they meet there.
There is the opportunity to see if there is a connection and no worries about pics in ads not being accurate. Also, no prescreening hassles.

The swinger scene can be fun, with its own set of advantages and disadvantages, and therefore is not a route to go for a lot of people.

   Oh, wanted to add... If you are fairly decent looking, do what I do and pair up and get invited to a private swinger club. If you keep, fit, are respectful and reasonably nice looking you will have ladies keep you busy. As long as you don't care if the hubby watches, then you'll have a good time and lots of variety. Although I've only been to one mixer, I have to say it was nothing to get worked up about - better off doing what I suggested earlier in this post.

   I've been deceived and hood-winked by far more talented players, and have played from the outside - in for most of my 55 years. This is no exception. Boys talk a great game for whatever deficiencies they have chained around their ankles. But once the gloves go on and they're on the inside of the 20 by 20, they realize their falsettos don't cut it.

Asking about mixers with the providers you have sessions with is one way of getting the info about upcoming mixers and she can be a reference to help you meet the screening requirements.

There are a lot of providers that do not know about mixers. However, if you have VIP membership you can see who is active in the various VIP forums. There is a high probability that they might know about them.

ps. There is really no reason to hide your profile. What you write in it can be innocuous, but listing your city location can sometimes better help people when responding to some questions with more valuable info.

   Here's why I wrote what I did... The mixers are like ,, like going into an auto dealership and having salespersons all around you. Same principle except it is not a car the ladies are marketing.

I am staying away from mixers for a while. Some of these events have become too open, so much so that the bartenders and waiters at restaurants and hotels know what the girls do, and they spread the word to their colleagues or regulars at the bar. Plus, it would not be the first time that LE task forces have been in attendance at such events.

While their have been incidence as you describe, a number of mixers are held at private homes or hobby friendly hotels - perhaps hobby friendly is an overstatement, but at least hobby neutral.

Since I’ve been going to mixers, the only time there was a police “taskforce,” bunch of cops in uniform to posture a police presence happened over 3 years ago. The police acknowledged that they found nothing illegal going on. One person was arrested as she had outstanding warrants for arrest.

The only reason that the police were allowed in was that the mixer was held in a public area of the hotel. Contracts subsequently are written that the mixer area is private, not open to the public. This oversight occurred that time because the whole hotel was completely book by mixer attendees.

BTW, a key lesson here is that if one has outstanding warrants they are subject to arrest, if they attract attention that gets LE interested, whether attending a mixer at a hotel or just checking into a hotel as and individual.

Attending a mixer or not is up to each individual, some prefer the smaller meet & greet type venue.

   The best posts in this thread that are most informative are by HighStepper.

This is how it works.

If your new, no one is going to trust you, this is somewhat of a community, and safety is important. Over time, when you see a number of girls and also contribute to the board, you possibly will be invited to one of the good mixers.

These are excellent ways to see the girls without the "photoshop" but also just plain simple fun.

The better Mixers that I recall, and there have been many, was a Golf Mixer years ago and a bowling mixer which did "O.K."

Depends on who sponsors it.

Stick around, contribute when you can, and you might be invited. An invite just doesn't come overnight based on your "resume" since we don't know you...yet.
