"email threads as references"

I wanted to let everyone know that I recently had good luck using saved email threads from providers I had seen previously as references. The emails had several back and forths along with the usual "I had a great time come see me again sometime" sign off. It was a lot faster to just forward them and I did not run into the "and why is he seeing you and not me" problem that can also happen with references.

Sounds pretty easy to fake and posting this plants the idea that such a thing will work. I suspect it may work ocassionally, but that on the whole, it won't fly for most.

I wouldn't dare keep old e-mails to/from providers on my computer. I delete them and my phone call history immediately after seeing her.

EVIDENCE is key to any case. If a provider needs references let her do the footwork.

Not that I corespond regularly with providers, but that's why I have a specific web-based email account. So prying eyes never see it. Kinda like having a hobby phone.

Interesting, creative way of satisfying the reference requirements. I'm still surprised that a lot of providers would take those in lieu of having an actual conversation with another lady.

Maybe I’m being overly sensitive about this, but there seems to be an element of a trust violation. I realize that anything in writing, emails to text messages are subject not being held in confidence, but I don’t think there was an expectation from the senders that you would be forwarding their private messages to third parties.

And as pointed out an email from someone is easy to alter to say what you want it to say before forwarding it.

I'm sure you'd appreciate having your private emails forwarded around to your place of business. Right? No? Well, you have no permission to forward someone's emails around. How do you know where they're going? You're violating the first provider's privacy by doing that. Not that you care, but you are.

Thank God, we have the Emily Post of the Internet Era on this board. Otherwise we might all perform some horrible transgression that we would live to regret. In case you could not follow the logic, all the providers involved willingly accepted the other forwarded emails and then all were okay with being references. Good God. Compared to being attacked by some weirdo or arrested by the police, having a stranger read your email must seem like a real violation! Jesus, what a ..

Although it seems bit uptight, just think about providers sharing your email ( including the ones that states the request for some kinky stuff) with other providers or god forbid with some hobbyists with dubious reputations.

wouldn't you feel violated?

Perhaps the emails work as a starter.. but she needs to take it from there and make contact.

I'd say just pass along your review history... she can pick and chose who she wants to call from there.

In my opinion this is a major issue we should be getting together and hashing out how to handle this. References of what may be considered an illegal act is ridiculous. On a site (most sites) where the advertisers are lying about their ethinicty, weight, age etc it should be banned. I didn't have time to respond to a post that I read last month from a brother who was suggesting a who's hot rating system. I'm thinking we could protect the top providers and the group
by revealing our top five, where and why. It would take 20 of us and we woulf have nearly a 100 choices. If this is an ok idea how would we prevent infiltration of LE and providers?

I've never fully understood the references thing?? It's my business whom I choose to spend time and money with, and I would never give that information to another provider. For all I know she could be a cop.

The most I will do (and have done) is give a provider a link to a review I've given to someone. If that's not enough, I'll gladly take my business elsewhere. As it turned out that was enough proof for her to see me.

I'm concerned about the safety or providers and I'm concerned about my own safety, but granting telephone numbers, emails, or names of women I've been with is a bit much.

They don't call me MrDiscrete for nothing
