"In Case You Forgot How Awful Craigslist iS..."
 
Over the holidays I posted a couple of ads in the Casual Encounters area. I got 12-15 response and literally ALL of them were bogus. I got these long, chatty e-mails about how the lady is new in the area and hasn't met anyone 'cool' to hang out with yet. The email goes on to say that she is using a friend's laptop so if I go to Safedate.com or some BS web site and register, I'll find her phone number waiting - just call!

Or, they send a short email and ask for a reply to make sure I am real. So I send the reply, then I get the long chatty email with a hot picture telling me to go the BS website for her phone number.

Of course, the website wants your credit card number. I never hooked up with anyone.

Christ, I just wanted a blow job.

   Tried the same approach over the holidays with your exact results.
The good times are gone from CL, I had quite a few casual encounters from there. But now all you get are bots. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted...

Right on, Funsekr: I will never EVER forget the sweet trim young blonde thing that answered my ad about five years ago. She wasn't 'comfortable' with daty during our first meeting.

"Too intimate," she said. She was very comfortable with cim, though. That worked for me.

But, yeah, no more of those on CL.

   Wish my luck had been so good. I tried it once and will never forget the fugly behemoth that had the nerve to show up. She looked NOTHING like her picture and I think the one she sent me was AFTER she birthed about 8 kids and ate her way through a divorce. I couldn't even stay and have coffee, just got up and told her I didn't think it was gonna work. Never tried again after that. Doesn't sound like I'm missing much.

Craigslist doesn't have the community behind it that RB does. While a few of the reviews might raise suspicions, the majority of them validate the system. RedBook is by far the best community for hobbyists in the areas it serves. I've used it for the Bay Area and Las Vegas with good results. For me, it's not worth the hassle to bother with Craigslist for hobbying.

   I don't get it, guys. I use CL all the time and am currently doing two. 18yo and a 39 yo. Both attractive and fun to be with.

Sometimes I run out so I go for the predictable AAMPs. When you walk in you know what is going to happen, sometimes more. Some of them give a nice RIM, I do pass on the DFK though.

   You're absolutely right about the Casual Encounters section of Cl, it's a vast bait and switch wasteland. And after being forced to severely censor the Erotic Services section, you're much better off with RB. But I've had some good luck in the recent past in the Gigs section, under adult. In response to my posted ads I've had more than a few nonpro girls wanting to get together to supplement their meager income. Met my last sugarbaby in exactly this manner. CL's casual encounters is a crap shoot. i've had zero luck there. i did however had moderate success with the adult gigs section. i posted an ad there just about a year ago and had several responses with most including photos of themselves. out of the dozen or so replies, i narrowed down my list to 3 girls.

one was 20 or so, down on her luck trying to get back into school. i met with her a few times for coffee. sweet looking girl with curves on a petite frame. unfortunately she wasn't able to host and was a bit flakey. plus side was she'd email me topless pics of herself seeking a date.

another gal i met up with was half latina/white, 23, gorgeous body with decent C cups and an ass to die for. we had some common interests which made for an easy transition in the bedroom. i probably banged her a half a dozen times before she finally asked for help on rent.

the third gal is someone i would have liked to meet in person. we had several email exchanges but the logistics of her school/work schedule and distance between us (sf-south bay) made last minute rendezvouses impossible. i must admit after reading this thread, i shot off an email to her hoping she's around. the photos that she sent me were eye catching. all done with her point-n-shoot. attractive italian girl with banging body and perfect tata's. i would have liked to sample her head to toe.

Yep. The old fashion way to pick up girls still works. I've not had any luck with CL.

   I posted a CE ad about a month ago and got dozens of BS responses, but 1 seemed real, so I emailed back. We met for a couple glasses of wine one evening. Shes tall, thin, very hot. After the wine, she says are you busy Friday? Why not come over and we can have some more wine and snacks and hang out. So I go over and the first hour is snacks, wine, chat. After some wine I figured what the hell and I leaned in for a kiss and 20 min later I was pounding her on the floor of her living room. I couldn't believe my luck. Turns out shes married, her husband lives out of state and she sees him every few months. She has an arrangement with him that she can date when she needs it. Hubby has been home for xmas, but via email she tells me she can't wait for our next encounter.

So, yes it's still out there. Few and far between, but sometimes you get lucky!

Well, the reason I have done CL is because I'm a little old for cruising and the bar scene, and never been very good at it, anyway. I guess the thing I like about CL is that the non-pro, GND,civilian ladies are more down-to-earth and tend to be more into the situation than pro providers. I wasn't looking for a freebie, just a good time without too much attitude. Like I said, I've had a couple of CL experiences that were really great. Now, it's just such a hassle for nothing.

Dellsnorto, thanks for the other CL tip. You guys that are having success - bravo. Sometimes age, appearance, demographics work against you. I mean, if you are between 20-40 y.o. and are decent looking, you probably can still score there, I believe it.

Almost same situation with Inner Dog here, older, not dating kind of guy, had tried CE, mostly BS and scam. Occasional real post would end up to be somewhat semi-pro girls wanting same rate as RB girls with absolutely no idea what I would get in return. For that, I said F..k it, went for the real RB instead of taking chances.

CL was a good thing for a while there. I remember placing quick adds looking for quicky and getting solid responses from chicks who never advertised on their own. Those days are toast.

   I agree with you, BestPal, I used to have fantastic luck with a quick fix via a CL ad, but no more! ahhhh..for the good ol'd days!
Too bad CL is full of BS now. I don't go to CL for anything anymore, unless its to read the jokes and rants...as for scoring, I'll stick to RB.

Im new to RB as a VIP, and am still learning my way around, but must say, Im very pleased with it, wish I had upgraded to VIP sooner!

Well, in defense of CL, I found a beautiful 18 yr old with a flawless body. Think 5'3 120 and D's on an Asian mixed girl. Definitely Non Pro.

But it took 7 months of talking with her before me met and literally she was one real response in over 200+ fake ones.

But that was before CL created their BS rules and started adding fees.

So I personally think the CL "market" is dead now. Long live RB.

Ok, I'll admit what I did. I was tired of all the chicks (and bots) that were bait and switch. I was tired of answering 50 ads and never getting a single "real" woman to respond. I also posted numerous ads and all I got were "fake" bots that tried to get me to go to their websites that would either put SPAM on my computer or required me to pay to look at her photo.

So, one time I wrote that I was a professor and a doctor that had a fantasy. I said I was single, available, but busy.

I got about 5 "real" chicks to actually email me back. When they think there is a potential relationship with a real doctor/ professor, then they'll come out of the woodwork. Likewise, some women get off from having sex with a doctor and / or professor.

Yes, I did visit 3 of the 5. A problem occurred when each kept asking me to diagnose some medical issue...LOL. I deflected what I could a was a BS artist for the rest. Thankfully I have doctors in my family so I do know the jargon.

In any event, if all the chicks do bait and switch, then why not me? I turned the tables and didn't feel guilty at all about it.

   I have to give props to CL....after all if it wasn't for CL I would have never learned about RB, EROS, and Cityvibe. The first provider I hooked up I found on CL. During the session she told me she also had an ad on RB. " What's RB", I said....later I pulled up the website and OMG I have never been back to CL and that was three years ago when it was halfway decent. I also looked around EROS and Cityvibe but I found RB to be the best as far as having all the vital information with one click (pics, description, location, rates, reviews). There are quite a few lovely ladies on the other sites but I have to spend more time going through the add to collect all the required info. I am not sure about now but back then the girls on EROS never posted rates in their add so you would have to call just to find out....and then it was $$$$$...I don't think so!

Love RB...no need to look elsewhere.
