   I've only been playing for the past four years, enjoying every minute of it ;).

I was curious how pricing has changed over the years, actually decades. For the guys that have been around, what were prices like in the 70's 80's and 90's? And while we on subject, how has the quality of ladies changed over that time.

Any input is appreciated.

   I know for the last 15 years or so prices are exactly the same for AMP's. Which is amazing considering inflation over that time. Selection and quality is better nowbecause there are so many AAMP's now all over the place.

   In the US there is definitely downward price pressure caused by the recession. While not perfectly fungible, sex is a world wide commodity. With a perfectly fungible commodity like oil, an over abundance of supply causes prices to fall, while something like the drop in the dollar makes it cost more. Maybe sex is more like the overall trade in hydrocarbon fuels. You can't burn natural gas or coal in your car, so their price doesn't seem to relevant to the price of gas. However, some ships or power boilers can burn different fuels, so an oversupply in natural gas can cause a concomittant decrease in the price of fuel oil.

Clearly, you have certain foreign providers trying to sustain prices as the dollar weakens. But there is a huge increase in supply coming from below (as well as a decrease in demand) in the form of masses of unemployed, poor women who will do anything for a couple of bucks. Just as there as there are some power plants, which can only use one source of fuel, there are some guys who will only fuck Korean RA's...luckily for me, I can burn anything.

   I recall paying about a hundred bucks for FS at a massage parlor in the Bay Area around 1985. Quality was about same as today, hit/miss.

I go back a couple more years than that, but yeah, AMP pricing hasn't gone up all that much. I remember quality being better. The places in MtnView and off of 3rd in San Mateo were great. And some great poon in SF. South Bay was where the old whores worked.

But, there used to be white (and black) chicks in massage places, which you don't see any more. And one of my first great P4P memories was with a little white gal in a Santa Cruz AMP who used the sponge who was horny at the end of her shift. Those hippy Santa Cruz girls were great.

For you youngsters, the sponge is a thing like a diaphram, so I didn't wear a condom. And that was not unusual.

I know that prices were generally lower and the selection must greater regarding streetwalkers in the late 80's and early ninetys. Girls strutting their wares all up and down the San Francisco tenderloin streets and the cars backed up around block to pick them up. Sometimes the TL around midnight resembled a drive-thru at Jack-In-The-Box. But the best was the lucious newbie whores or occasional enthusiastic amateur that would hit the stroll

   San Jose was a hotbed of street walkers in the '70s and early '80s. This also was a great time for stripclubs in SJ and extras were prevelant. I remember great times at Richards Lounge off Lawrence Expresway. I'll never forget a certain stripper that would show all she's got with a little feel for a couple of bucks. Now it's $20 to get in the door and extras are only a wet dream.

In the late 80's the price was from $50 to $100, depending on the quality. For a $100 in SF you'd be smiling for as long as you wanted...

   I can mostly speak of the bdsm/ProDomme providers. In the mid 70's at a house of domination, the going rate for a 1/2 hr was $35 or $40.00 and an hour was double that. The independents were providing domination for around $100 to 125.00 an hour. Watched it go up over the years to todays rates

I recall seeing an escort in the mid 80's for $125. And that was an agency price - so a bit on the expensive side for the day. There were a lot of agency's back then since the convenience of the Internet was not yet upon us.

   My recollection is that the cost in the 70's was at/just below $100.
It stayed around $100 until the mid-late 80's, at which time it increased to about $140.
I agree with the comments in this thread about supply/demand and recession-caused price holds/reductions.
Quality-wise, there were some excellent, good-looking RBGFE+++ providers in the SF Bay Area and Sacramento until the Black Thursday/Friday raids of the past 5 years.

   My first AMP experience was in 1985. The house fee was $25. Tips were 40, 60 and 80 for HJ, BJ and FS, respectively. Today the house fee is usually $40 and i always do FS and pay about 100 to 120. BTW this is for half hour session. If you upgrade to an AAMP its 160 to 200 for an hour.

Back in the early RB days...late 90s, quality girls would fetch 300-400. That dropped after the dotcom bust, but it seems to be back at that level now.
