POLL: You have an appt with a provider. You call her after you show up and she tells you to wait a couple of minutes and she'll call you back. As you wait an obvious PIMP walks by your vehicle, looks at you and proceeds to sit in his car What would you do?

   I called her from the parking lot and she told me to wait a couple minutes and she would call me back. About a minute later a guy showed up cell phone in hand (wires attached), young black man about 28 to 33 tatooed, Bling, Bling and more Bling, Looked right at me went to his car , made a call and sat there. Then my phone rang (the provider). Timing was a bit much for me so I left. The provider claimed it was somebody else's Pimp . It was Comfort Inn (2 star hotel with a very small parking lot) His car one car from mine. I'm an ex NYer and I know what I saw and I know a bad situation when I see it

   On one occassion about a two years ago I set up an appt with a newbie who was new to the area. When I arrived at the 2 star location...which was the first red flag. I pulled into the parking lot I drove around to check things out. As I pulled around the corner of the motel I saw two big dudes(one black/one hispanic) in a dark SUV. They were backed into a parkiing space towards the back of the motel and this was in the middle of the afternoon. Once I saw that, the hair on the back of my neck stood up and I knew it was time to get out of there. When she called to see where I was, I just told her I didn't feel good about the location and decided to leave.

I always say, if anything doesn't feel right then its time to leave....better safe than sorry.

I pulled up, called the provider, who asked me what car I was driving. I asked her, "Why do you want to know what kind of car I drive?". She hung up, and I drove off.

Right thing to do?

I always try to scope out the incall area 10 minutes early if I have the information. If I see anything suspicious, whether it be a potential pimp or LE, I cancel. That being said, it's only happened once. And that's when there were two squad cars in front of the motel.

   Based on the scenario you described I would leave because you are now in a defensive position. It is probably the best thing to do when faced with the possibility of having to deal with a pimp.

But I have to admit that there are occasions when I suspect there is potential to interact with the pimp and I initiate it. When I say I initiate I don't mean aggressively or like some bad ass. But I will strike up a conversation with them or maybe it is only saying "Hi." But I look them in the eye and it tells them is I see them, I recognize them, and I am not going to be intimidated. This is not something I recommend anyone should do. But turning the table can be fun if you are prepared. Plus being that I am 6'5", 260# and single offers me a lot more latitude.

   I typically get there early and park. then call and say I'm about 1 minute away. Then I wait for the cockroaches to come out of the woodwork. sometimes its the john finishing up before me, a lot of times its the roach running off. I pretend to be talking to someone then head back to work, $ saved.

I never park in the same parking lot of the hotel/motel that I am going to. I call the girl to tell them I'm there to get the room # then I walk in from the next lot over.

   Good point. If I see the pimp, I split.

Some hotels/motels parking in a different parking lot can be a challenge.
