You can submit an image to TinEye to find out where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions. Very handy plug in for Firefox. (avail for IE too)

http://www.tineye.com/plugin

I used it for a year before I realized it could be easily installed in the browser. Right click on any pic, and there it is in the dialog box.
