The guy who manages that site is a crook. I used this site & its not bad but that crook will definetly rob you. I signed up for a month & he charged me for a years subscription. I contacted him about the b.s. & he said he'll reverse the transaction. I also cancelled on-line but this guy totally lied. Today, I went to Wells Fargo & he collected another years subscription from my checking account. I closed this account like 2 or 3 weeks ago. This guy is a crook & messes everything up for others who use Adultfriendfinder. I cannot explain how annoyed I am with this criminal. DON'T USE ADULFRIENDFINDER!!!

This is a good reminder for all of us. Never use your checking account for an internet purchase. Always use a credit card. Much easier to reverse the charges.

That being said, you need to get back to your bank and have them cancel the charges. Don't take no for an answer.

Let them know you will file in small claims against them for processing an unauthorized charge. They'll bitch at you but you will win in the end.

Best of luck...

I use NOD32 for antivirus and use Malwarebytes for anti malware. I also use Windows firewall for firewall protection. I think you need to protect against all 3 problems.

Send a certified letter to them threatening to file complaint
with the FTC charging them with wire fraud. They will give you
back your $30 or whatever it was just to get rid of you. They
don't want the feds on their back.

There is no "guy" behind AdultFriendfinder. It was purchased by Penthouse a couple years ago for $400 million dollars. FriendFinder has been around for about fifteen years. They are a major corporation with aspirations of filing an IPO when the market is better. FriendFinder earns millions of dollars per year with thousands of clients. If it were true that they were overbilling it would be major major news and AFF would have been shut down years ago.

I'm not calling you a liar. But I have a feeling that you either picked up a trojan or made a simple mistake.

Match.com did that BS to me a year ago. They auto-renewed after I cancelled, said I didn't cancel in the right way. I emailed with them they gave me a runaround, but I went to my bank and contested the credit card charges and they immediately backed down. Just contest the charges.

I had the same problem with my gym membership. As a result, I refuse to give my Visa authorization for those monthly debits anymore. I just pay one lump sum or use my AMEX card. AMEX has been very good at refunding my money and going after them.

I received virus warnings from something associated with Ashley Madison. I run Kaspersky, and "Ashley Madison" appeared in the name of the virus or trojan that was singled out.

I can feel for you. I never give out my real credit card number or checking account. I use one of those prepaid cards that I get at US Bank and put a set amount on it and if the company tries to go after my money they can only get what is on the card. It is a small price of 3.95 service fee to get one, but worth lots in the time and headache of trying to get back unauthorized charges.

I went to Paris years ago and got scammed by some chicks in a club. They played me acting so nice and wanting a few drinks then when I got the bill it was in the 100s and they wouldn't let me go until I paid up. I didn't want to make a scene or fight my way out of there especially when the bouncer was a buffed female and the 2 women that were friendly with me actually worked for the club. I called up my bank and after writing lettings and explaining my case they reversed the charges. I learned if the women are tgtbt then it might be a scam and not to use carry my real credit cards with me.

Petite asian lover

Tried them two or three years back and didn't like them either. They get you to join for a small price, but to actually get anything out of it you have to "upgrade" -- and again. Fortunately I didn't fall for it and got out asap!

If you used an ATM Card/charge number you are protected same as with a credit card:

- Have bank close the card and issue another as with fraud.
- File a fraud report for unauthorized charges
- Most banks will post a refund right away while the originator is given 60 days to contest. Most will not.
- after 60 days the refund is permanent and the case is closed.

I had to do this with BofA for some fraudulent charges once. The thing to watch out for now days is those who will pass along CC info to other frauds. They will then shotgun the account with other usually smaller charges.

Using a temporary prepaid cc with a limit is not a bad idea bit I don't know if the above refund procedure would work with that.

I wouldn't sign up for no other reason then their popups being very annoying when trying to access adult sites. Even with popups being blocked, they still seem to be able to get around it when trying to access other adult sites.

I wouldn't sign up because the ratio has to be about 20:1 men to women. You have to ask yourself how much your time is worth. You may get a bite every once in awhile but the competition is fierce; good luck reeling in a catch worth the time you invested.

For single people, agreed.

Couples, its a pretty rich grounds.

But in comparison, its 100x better than singles using Craigslist. ;)

   It gets worse.

I've been with a couple women I had a great time with. He gave them bad reviews, then offered to change the reviews if they'd give him a free session.

Never use your CC or checking account for any kind of service. Get a Discover Card with "online, one time" CC numbers. Can only be used once, so there is NO way you can get nailed for extra fees or subscriptions. After you make the initial purchase, that CCN cannot be used again.
