The light screening is for their benefit, real or perceived, not yours.

Just find a provider who doesn't make you play that game.

Many providers who screen ask for references also. A phone number for each reference is usually required and something the provider can say about you so the reference provider will know who she is asking about. The provider wants to make sure you are not LE, have good hygiene and manners, pays and is respectful.

Light screening usually refers to a screening process that does not require references. They may ask you who you saw last (not a reference since phone number not asked for), where do you live, where do you work and/or what is your job title, what ethnicity are you (caucasian, hispanic, black, korean, japanese, etc), etc. Answer all questions you are comfortable with. You don't have to give specific business name/phone# if you are not comfortable that. If this is your first time, just say "this is my first time".

If you do not pass screening, just move on to the next RA on your list. There are also many who do not screen at all. But if you no show/no call, are a jerk or don't pay, you will be put on a blacklist (list is shared) which may make it difficult for you to book with other providers.

They have this special RB screen light they shine through the phone at you. If you see a bright light hit you, you're approved. If not, you don't have a chance in Hell to see them.
