That is not an accurate subject line. Change the "infects hundreds with..." to "exposes many to...".

The "probable cause" statement is an invalid link.


From where did you get "hundreds" ?

From where did you determine her partners were "infected" ?

Good questions, given the odds of female-to-male transmission are EXTREMELY low. But then again, accuracy doesn't matter when there's a panic to be created...

This kind of idiotic reporting and the inability to discern its inaccuracy demonstrate what happens when scare tactics replace STD education!

If she shared needles with other injection drug users, there's a good chance she infected others. If she regularly offered unprotected Greek, there's a good chance she infected others. As reported, she exposed many but probably did NOT infect anybody!

Nowhere did the article make ANY claims of "hundreds". That's purely the idiocy of the OP.

The demographics in this thread http://forum.myredbook.com/dcforum2/soapz/9144.html would be totally different if HIV was highly communicable for heterosexual sex. How else would one explain 65% of HIV cases coming from the 5% or so of the population that has M-M sex or inject drugs?

The most accurate statement in the article:
"Jodie Bica is STD Prgram Manager for the St. Louis County Health Department. Bica said whether a partner of a person who has sex with someone who is HIV-positive contracts the virus depends on the viral load and the partner's immune system."

The word in contention here is "infects", not "contracts". Most infections do not result in contractions. So the real question as to whether she infected hundreds is whether she went BB with hundreds of clients. It will never be known how many contracted the virus from her.

Of course, if you include secondary infection/contraction, then all bets are off.

Please explain the difference between infecting and contracting. Do you mean that infecting is "exposure" and "contracting" is acquiring clinical evidence of the disease, either serological (blood test) or observed on examinations ?

You would be amazed at how many men ask for BB sex on RB and how many girls actually do it...I spoke with a gentleman last night and he said "Oh I figured it would be in their reviews if they were dirty, given out diseases" I said " Well do you think men/women who are given it away will actually write a review about it? or would they actually say something if they are having sex with multiple providers or clients BB or would they rather not and save themselves the embarrassment???" Just something to think about...I say cover it up, have some fun and save your life so you can have more fun...:)...

Could you imagine paying all that money to have fun and end up with HIV/AIDS...WOW that would be a shame..
