"Possible STD Question"

LAST EDITED ON 02-Aug-10 AT 08:00 AM (PST) by (moderator)

I saw a provider for her BBBJ Special and about a week after seeing her - I started to develop sores. I got one in the arm, leg, one above my pubic area, and one close to the base of my penis.

They started out as a bump like a pimple (and after they popped) they grew to about a quarter sized red raised sore. (hurt like a sob)

Has anybody any thoughts on what this could be?

I went to a doctor and he prescribed some anti-biotics because he thought it could be bedbugs but so far this has not helped.

I'm a bit freaked out and at best... this is bedbugs or scabies.. and worst... this is hiv or something else. The worst thing is the HIV test usually take 1-3 months after infection to be detected. The waiting is the going to be hard.

I've been hobbying for ten years... and STDs I have thought about but thought the chances were low. Seems like... it's not worth the risk to do anything bare... and covered is the best.

Anybody have a similar experience?

From what I've read on the boards the chances of getting HIV from BBBJ is almost non existent. If someone can verify I'd appreciate it and would prob help relieve some of your concerns. Also, what are the legal ramifications for a provider who knows she has HIV and still provides?

Dear GroundShark,

HIV from receiving BBBJ is very rare, but does not mean it never happened. There are a few documented cases, but there are also un-documented cases that happened. Getting HIV from receiving BBBJ is rare but you could still get STDs easily. If anybody don't want to take chances, just covered it up.

I think RB should have a section where we can report about getting STDs/HIV or anything else from providers.

Wish everyone a safe hobbying.

Dear dell4me25,

When I first started hobbying, I was so freaked out after I had my first BBBJ and I got a fever and feeling fatique just a few days after. I feared that I might catch some STDs or the worst which is HIV. I cannot sleep, eat, or do my normal every day work. So after this I decided everything should be covered. To be sure and safe, please go get tested at http://www.stdtestexpress.com. This is where I got tested. Also be sure to choose the "HIV DNA Test". It is more accurate and you could get tested as early as 28 days from an exposure with an 95% accuracy rate. The "8 Test Panel + HIV DNA" is the way to go.

Wish you the best of luck.

You don't get VD on your arm and leg. And it's not Aids. Carpose sarcoma doesn't hurt; It's not a sore.

Dell4me25,

Big chances are you do not have HIV, but to make sure you should go get tested. If you actively hobbying, I would suggest to get tested every 6 or 12 months even though you might not have any symptoms. In this situation, I would think over 95% you do not have HIV. Hope this helps.

Thanks for replying everybody.
I think the best thing for me to do is try not to allow this affect me too much and focus on other things. I'll take the 8-point complete STD test next week Friday which will be about 30-days which I think I've been infected.

The anti-biotics didn't help... so I'm sure it is something more than an infection from a bugbite.

everybody be safe.

Why would you wait another 10 days?

The HIV DNA test results are effective 28-days after infection.
It normally takes 3 months for the other test.

I'm waiting 30-days to play it safe so the test provides me with the right results. I don't want to get lulled into a false sense of relief.. that said, i will probably take another normal test in 3 months to play it safe.

What I did was 8 test panel + HIV dna after 30 days and the exact same one 3 months later. Cost me around $800 but I guess it is worth it because the HIV dna test gives better result and compliment the other 2 regular tests. If your results came back good and you still have symptoms, I suggest you need to go to a hospital and get check out. The reason I said hospital is because I know a lot of doctors will miss what the hospital can find. I am talking from friends and relatives experience.

Sounds like primary/secondary syphillus.

You get an intramuscular shot of penicillin G?

If not, those oral meds don't do too much... Doxy is alright, but nothing beats PenG.

Hello hkdigweed,

Did you mean Syphilis? Probably is because the chances of getting Syphilis is higher than HIV. The best way is to wait for his test results.

Reading about the symptons of Syphilis... there is a higher chance that it could be that. I'm going to see if the doctor can get a blood or spinal fluid test done on me to confirm this. (sooner that when I do my STD test next week)

The sores... originally were not painful and small... until they got infected. They have now turned my brownish and purple.. which are part of the cycle of Syphilis.

Thanks everybody for the information.
This has been helpful.

@ the virgin: Congrats, you've earned the blue ribbon in the spelling-bee. Be proud of yourself.

Syphilis RPR can be done in less than a day. VDRL a little longer than that, with moderate benefit in specificity.

OP - just make sure you were clear to your health provider about the details - yes it's embarrassing, but it's hard as fuck and annoying as hell when information is absent with an unknown diagnosis.
