Interesting question- living in Angeles City must be kinda like living in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory- immediate gratification abounds everywhere. But I would think that if you were going to go somewhere else, it would be for other activities than mongering...

It's difficult to stereotype about looks- I find Javanese women very attractive, and yes, they typically are darker, like many filipinas. You can certainly find youthful, pretty and naturally fit girls in Jakarta. You'll also find short ones, fat ones, skinny ones, pale ones- I'll post some pictures when I get back to my home computer.

To me the biggest difference from somewhere like Angeles is that Jakarta is a very big city, with a huge variety of experience, from high end spas to dive bars. However, you won't get public performances like gogo bars, because it's a muslim country. But there are a huge number of working girls in Jakarta- just as a WAG, I'd think 10 times as many as Angeles (but I'd certainly defer to other members of the board who have a more scientific methodology)...

I didn't find Stadium a particularly good forum to find girls. If you are going to go to a spa, then Alexis if you have a high budget, or the 6th floor of Malioboro for mid tier, or Hotel Travel for cheaper. All are nice establishments with clean rooms. For overnight take home, yes Blok M works well, and I've always found something good at Top Gun or D's...

Does Jakarta offer something not available in Angeles? Well in the end, like they say in Thailand, it's the same-same, but different. Is it different enough to warrant buying tickets to Indonesia? I dunno- that really depends on how much it costs, and how much you want to get out of AC. All I can say is that I've always enjoyed my visits to Jakarta, and I went 6 times last year (though 3 were not mongering trips)...

Hotel Travel is in north Jakarta, a half hour fast-bus ride from my hotel (Ambhara) at Blok M. Format: enter large bar to left of hotel, into a huge bar with about 100 girls (didn't count 'em) seated on semi-circular sofas. Plenty of mamasans available to call girls over and to handle business (none of the girls spoke English). Cost is 300K rupiah (just over $30) with an appreciable tip expected for good service. Cost is for girl and room for one hour.

Took one girl the first day and another the second. Service was pretty good, both did bbbj but neither girl would kiss. Both were early-mid 20's, thus not as young as girls at other well-known venues in Jakarta. I gave each girl an appreciable tip and everyone was happy.

Visited Top Gun bar at Blok M, not my taste, noisy, smoky, and full of obnoxious ex-pats, but pretty girls evident.

I wouldn't go to Jakarta for P4P, easier in Thailand or PI, but nice and fun for variety, especially since I had to be in Jakarta anyway.

Top Gun is probably the best freelance bar there in Blok M. What many people may not realize about Blok M that is talked about so much, the scene is pretty concentrated on a really really small street with three main bars for women there. The street is pot-holed and the taxis there are ripoffs that park there getting fares kind of like the trikes in AC that make Manila taxi drivers look like saints. In other words, it's a real small scene, but enough to keep you busy for a short stay.

The thing that kind of sucks there is the night scene starts pretty late. Blok M really doesn't get going until about 10pm really at the earliest but more like 11pm. Restaurants close early compared to PI or Thailand. If you are trying to get something totally different and worthwhile I would probably tell you to skip it. It's a change of venue, but it's a relatively small scene. The one thing I will say about Indonesia, is I think the food is better there than Philippines and even Thailand. I don't do well with spicy food.

If you have to do a visa run and can get a cheap flight, I would say go for it then to give it a try. If you want to explore, I don't know if it'll offer you enough in keeping the brain wet, but then again I can't see myself doing AC for more than a few days at most.
