Mr Hoffy, i believe you because i went once too. but at some point in 2009, they changed the policy. they don't allow the US-citizen fiance to attend the interview now.

the only way to do it now is to arrive separately from your fiance and go in under the pretense of using the US citizen services counter (add passport pages, US notary, etc...).

of course, if you did that and then tried to join the interview, you'd probably piss them off more than anything. but it works if you just want to wait with her.

When my ex did the interview at the Embassy in Manila I was allowed inside to wait with her but NOT in the actual interview room. It was short and not difficult she said. Nonetheless, she made some stupid admissions (i.e that she had used shabu (AKA meth)-long before I knew her) which got her file flagged for administrative review causing an extra 4 or 5 months delay (total of almost a year). She had to go to a psychologist (if only they had told me about the bipolar disorder back then!)who deemed her juvenile drug use not a threat to the national security of the United states. This was back in 1997.
