Major US bank MC credit card: declined.
Same US bank MC debit card: accepted.

Would have rather used the credit card, but WTF. Maybe this data point will be useful for others.

Debit card worked for me easily. I had to call to prove I was doing the transaction on the mc. That WAS last trip.

CC (Visa) worked for me (online in the US a few weeks ago) to book a rt flight for someone else (from PI to elsewhere in Asia on CP). I was asked for a "Verified By Visa" password, maybe that makes a difference...

   I have had poor luck booking CP online using credit card. Thanks for the suggestion to use a Debit Card, I'll try that next time. The only trouble with this is I don't get my "miles" with the debit card ( sigh ).

Last time, I had Verified by Visa, everything set, still would not book on line. I ended up having to go to a CP office in Manila, a charming experience with a long wait.

When I finally reached a telephone customer service rep to talk about the CC billing online, I was told this simply won't work with non PI credit cards. But, of course, nothing on the web site to alert customers to that.

I suppose if I plan ahead and book my entire trip whtough a travel agent, all of this can be avoided. But trips change, plans change, or sometimes I just want to remain flexible and finalize plans later.

You can bankonit....

Another possibility: Maybe the ticket needs to be for someone with a name & address in PI, even if the billing isn't.

I used the same name and address in the states for both. As far as I can tell nothing was different between the credit card and the debit card except the card number, expiry, cvv.

   I had no problem using a VISA CC to book a flight. I bought a round trip CRK - Cebu while in the states. I also changed my return - bought a one way while in Cebu. I used my address of the US and made sure the country of the bank was US.
