"Phnom Penh Hotels??"

LAST EDITED ON 06-Feb-10 AT 10:34 PM (PST)

I am hoping to visit Angkor Wat in April and would like to spend a couple nights in Phnom Penh as well.

Are all the hotels in PP girl friendly for LT?
I need a hotel with a decent internet connection.

Does anyone know of a few girl friendly hotels in PP with good internet?

and in Siam Reap?

I was in Phnom Penh last March and stayed at the Casa Hotel 5 French Blvd [street 47] Ph. 855 23 426 773. Wasn't the best in the western world but was clean and had a little eating place on the main floor. What was interesting was that it had a place to have some fun on the third floor.
I stumbled on it by accident. Was down getting something to eat. Heard music [a bar right...] walked up the stairs found out the second floor was being demoed and then got to the third floor. Had about 18 to 20 ladies sitting around for you consideration.

Had a great taxi drive by the name of Chanra I think his phone was 01261088. Spoke fair english and was willing to take me around. Even went across the river and took pictures back toward Phnom Penh during the night.

Well that was the way it was last March. Things could have changed. I didn't try to do internet at that place. Was only there for one night then cought the bus north to Siem Reap.

If you are looking for a guide. I had one that was great. Good English very dependable knows what he is doing and takes you to places that you can get good photos. I will look up his name and number and get them back to you.

Have a great time. I did

Most PP Hotels are GF, it is the "good internet" connection that will be more problematic.

Go soon unless you like Africa hot. (March to May is "hot" season").

Siem Reap: Prince d'Angkor. Middle of town, easy to get to the temples (via several motorized options), and lots of parlors around, though the ones I checked didn't offer extra services :( Open lobby, good internet (though you have to keep getting access codes from the desk to use it for a few hours from your room). Just outside the premises is an AMP... ask the young boy hanging out with the girls where to find "better service" and he'll hook you up. He may even take you there on his moped.

the guides will be waitin' for ya once you get off the boat (assuming you're taking one of the power boats up the delta). I love to walk when I travel - but the "guides" made it impossiable... I finally broke down and hired one of the guys with a moped (albeit a new one)... Great move - he took me all over PP - the killing fields, markets etc, and was right there waiting for me to come out of my hotel always.

It costs about 10 bucks a day and is well worth it. I am a pretty big guy too (6 ft, 200lbs plus) It was no problem. He was safe, got me around quick with lots of photo ops on the back of the bike. They can all guide you to the best places to for action

All the hotel, rests, etc seem very provider friendly - I they were both at my hotel, all the resturants etc. attractive and cheap.
