"Great moments in signs seeming to advertise"

There is yet another report of an old fart preying on young girls in Thailand: http://www.pattayadailynews.com/en/2010/06/18/american-arrested-on-paedophilia-charges-in-thailand%E2%80%99s-north/. Nothing new here, we can all appropriately deplore pedophilia as well we should.

More interesting is the neon sign shown in the report, plus another few from the internet. I rather doubt these are in Thailand. Anyone have any idea where they are from? (tineye has not shed light on the topic....)

note to cynics: I am not asking location so I can go there...rather I am curious which country would allow such signs....maybe Russia? Does "Lalo Store"mean anything to anyone? And yes, all three signs are in English...

I don't think those signs are real. Most likely they
were created with computer graphics, by an unknown person.

There is a computer software plug-in called "After Effects"
which lets users draw in NEON or other special effects.
I think this is how the picture signs were created.

The text and logo in the lower right corner of the 2nd and 3rd make it obvious. That say "If it were this obvious we wouldn't need your help", clearly the effort of an anti-exploitation organization. They're saying it is never THIS obvious, but that sex work always to some degree amounts to the sexual exploitation of children and the innocent. Such organizations are, of course, entitled to their opinions, and I'm sure there are many cases where I personally might well agree with them.

Thanks for the instructive comments guys, obviously I hadn't read the fine print on the second and third images. The first actually looks real to me, given the burnt-out branch on the middle X, but of course with computer graphics this would be entirely possible. Note that this was the image in the Pattaya newspaper, which is not a guarantee of authenticity.

And now that I know I can create fake neon signs I just might want to be a bit creative myself....in a different arena of course.

The words in the pics are common phrases used by adult entertainment establishments, Girls Girls Girls, Live Shows, XXX and so on. Connecting those phrases to those images is their intent. They are insinuating a crime is taking place there, it's very ugly and clever at the same time. Some Wacos are behind it, IMHO.
