"San Jose, Costa Rica"

   1. Hotel Del Rey: ground zero. I've been to many different places. Still, I feel entering a new world when I check in on Friday night, many chicas in the lobby/bar. I stay here for several nights. Everytime I go downstair, there are chicas.

La ticas ask for $100. But they lower it down to $80 quickly. Usually, I end up paying $60 - $80.

Key Largo is across the street, girls and a band.

From ground 0, I walk several blks to massage parlors, New Fantasy and Idem.

2. New Fantasy: $45/1 hr; add $25 for 2 girls. $30/.5 hr; add $15 for 2 girls. There are sauna and steam room on the premise.

3. Idem: 31k colones for 1hr upstair

I'll have to agree, it's a good find, and would have saved me miles of walking if I had it before I left. Besides the Sportsman's, I noticed Hotel Little Havana (formerly Zona Blue) and Relax, which is across the street from Idem, were missing. Also missing was the Hotel Castillo, which is right around the corner from the Sportsman's. I went to New Fantasy once... they tried to upsell for everything, so I bounced. HLH is about 2 or 3 blocks away, and is a much better fixed-price option IMO. Here's a pic of Pamela from HLH... it's a bit dated -- possibly 4-5 years old, but it's the only one I could find -- but she still looks doable, and definitely delivers the goods... total PSE. She's also done some internet porn, but I accidentally tossed the web address she gave me

Is San Jose, Costa Rica the best/only place to go in Costa Rica for mongering? Which airport should I fly into that is closest to here? Thanks for any help!

Check your inbox... BTW, sorry I misread your post. There's only one airport in San Jose that I'm aware of, but it's only a 30 min. or so cab ride to the Gulch.

Actually, there are two airports in San Jose, but only one takes international flights from the U.S. It is airport code SJO. The other is a domestic airport for short flights only in Pavas, although it's technically an international airport because there are some short flights to Panama. There is another real international airport in Costa Rica, but it's in Liberia and serves the resorts in the Guanacaste area.

You will certainly be flying into SJO, which is on the outskirts of San Jose. If, within Costa Rica, you take a puddle jumper to Arenal or Quepos or Guanacaste, you will almost certainly take that from Pavas airport.

   I fly AA to SJO.

1. It's a rainy night. So I simply take the orange taxi (seems to be the official taxi?) to HDR, $28.
2. A guy at HDR tells me interbusonline.com, a little north of $10. But I have a problem to make reservation online.
3. So I take HDR shuttle to SJO, $22.
4. The cheapest is to take the bus. But plan more time. The traffic is bad.

I don't know other places in Costa Rica. Check ISG.

I take a girl to Volcan Poas. Another popular getaway is Jaco Beach.

Does anyone opposes going to SJ on weekdays compared to weekends?
I am planning on going July 5th - 8th?

Will I miss any of the fun if I don't go on a weekend?

I guess you've a good chance to have a good time on weekdays:

1. I check out on weekday noon. There are around 6 or 7 girls in lobby/bar.
2. There are other places in town. SL seems to be popular. I didn't make it though.
3. There are many other MPs cheaper than Idem and NF.

There's also some scary side shows on the back streets, street urchins asking for money, wanting to ask a question so they can get close and bop you on the head. And some clubs over in the older section of town where there is also some raucous action -- but primarily for locals and its more low-rent.

Hotel del rey is definitely ground zero. I would not waste my time going anywhere else.

In the daytime enjoy the city.
At night, go between Key Largo and Del Rey. I found Key Largo, to have a lot of local "amateurs" at night and you can have a blast dancing and drinking with them. They all will go back to your hotel (get one real close tho), and I've had a couple of freebies after getting to know them (and them me.)
I especially enjoy the lack of pushy waiters, bar fine, or high priced drinks for the ticas. it's like a pick up bar in the US, only with 100% guarantee you will get them in bed!! Absolute heaven!
