"Introduction"

I have enjoyed reading this forum for quite a while .... I know that probably makes me a "lurker"

Thought I would finally sign up .... as a veteren of 6 trips over 6 years to Phils, most recently home in Jan 2010 from a 7 week vacation to Angeles.

I did have a few things to accomplish back here stateside( and I am an East Coaster ) but I finally think I see the light at the end of that and have booked my next trip for August and most of September.

From the east coast ..... airfares are a consideration .... as mentioned June - July - August are high. Finally found one that was in line ( perhaps because of a Sept. return )

I hope this is OK to post and will possibly see a few of the Redbook brethen while in Angeles. Probably sat next to some of you at Kokomo's, Margarita Station or just around town.

( Redbook ) NEWBIE

Cheers

Munch

Welcome aboard Captain!
I will be going to AC for the first time ever in November. I'm currently collecting as much information from the archives and saving them on notepad/outlook notes.
I will be sure to post some questions (if any) to the board.
Any past TR info for newbies going to Manilla (will fly into here first and spend 2 days) and AC (spend 3-4 days before flying back to HK for Macau) would be greatly appreciated.

My handle is for the best SF AMP...on Broadway str

Thanks for the welcome.

I have a few pics ...... but I think after looking at some of the pictures that Surfer and Biker have posted of the bar events and the paint contests, I will need to start taking my camera on some of the nightly forays, find a pool party to go to ( with the cam. )

I generally stay out of some of the bigger bars like Atlantis / Dollhouse and like some the smaller bars on Fields and the Perimeter.

The last trip, the sweethearts were everywhere.

I sort of liked Ponytails on the Perimeter and Tropix for some great body paint nights. Treasure Island can be pretty wild. Pulled a cutie out of Shooterz the first night in AC that was worth repeating 5 more times. Gecko's always seems to have a great following and because it opens earlier than most of the Fields bards, you need to get there early to sometimes get a reasonable pick.

The short list of bars I obviously went from the last trip includes: Shooterz, HoneyPot, Geckos, VooDoo, Tropix, Alaska, Treasure Island, LaPasha, Golden Nile, PonyTails.

I had a favorite from a couple of years ago email me in the middle of my stay " Are you in Angeles ... I think I see you "

A couple of years and a baby ( not mine ) "later", it was fun to reconnect and take a weekend to Subic. Sort of a repeat to the trip she and I made to La Union 2 years ago. Just one of several old friends that I found the last trip.

Of course, lots of similar stories to the rest of the folks that have been to AC, beware of scams, pesky beggars, pesky Viagra salesmen, pickpockets ( especially on the jeepneys ) and don't wear your "bling".

A few years ago, I had my gold chain grabbed while walking down Perimeter at 11 AM.

If you need info, I think I should be able to receive PM's now.

If you need a wingman, I am usually free since my buddy lives there and after my 1rst 2 trips, he said " you don't need me to go barhoppin, you have been here enough"

I stay out on the Perimeter and can even occasionally get the GF of the day to walk the 1/2 mile walk to breakfast.

Be safe,

Munch

Mabuhay Captain. Thats a fine list of fun bars in your post (although I have never been to Honeypot and was not impressed with Shooterz, but it all depends on when you visit as all bars have good nights and not so good ones. .

Mabuhay also Surfer.

As you point out all the bars have good nights and not so good nights. I sort of believe I have been in all the bars at one time or another but I could have missed by 20, 30 or 40. There is always next trip.

The Forbidden Palace looked like it was in the final stages of construction when I was there last and obviously open now. That will be one to check out one of the first nights back in AC. Based on the photos, I may have to even stop by the Dirty Duck and do more than stick my head in the door.

As any regular of AC knows, the big bars have implemented so many "tiers" now with different barfines for dancers, the cultural dancers, the show girls and on my last visit .... the waitresses at Golden Nile were going for more money also. I took the bait though because she was such a spinner - had to .... a few pesos were not going to sway that decision.

Thanks for all the information that you always post .... you seem to be very well informed.
