"Manila flight"
 
I just helped a friend find a better deal on a flight to Manila in December, for return in February. She had a price of over $1300 from PAL departing from SFO, but getting to SFO was going to be a problem for her. I found a Hawaiian Airlines flight for under $1000 departing SMF, which saved money, and solved the problem getting to the airport.

Please, any feedback on Hawaiian ?

Sorry I'm confused....
Are you saying that Hawaiian Airlines flys from Sacramento to the P.I. ?
$1,000.00 round trip ?

I just answered my own question and went to the Hawaiian web-site.
It will take over 2 days to get there it looks like though.

LOL, yes, but you make up for it on the way back - the trip only takes one hour !!!

Don't get tripped up over the time zones and the international date line. There is about a 15 hour time difference. I flew PAL and left on a Monday night and arrived on a Wednesday morning. On the way back I arrived before I left !

   yea Big,
I know about the times zones.
I fly PAL all the time, because it is the fastest,
(your time hours) to get to the P.I.
about 15hours SFO to Manila & 12 hours Manila back to SFO.

If I understand the Hawaiian flight schedules from Sacramento,
it is a day layover in Hawaii each way.

With time on your hands and a budget, it is a good deal though.

I don't want to go off in the ditch with this, I was mostly asking about HA as a carrier.

My suggested itinerary has her leaving SMF at 8:50 am on a Friday, arriving Manila Saturday 6:05 pm with a 50m layover in Honolulu.

On the return, she departs MNL 7:50 PM on a Monday and arrives 8:55 that same Monday after a 2:05 layover in HNL.

I think the confusion may be that HA doesn't fly the MNL leg every day, so if you pick the wrong departure, you have a layover of 1 day or more.

If I'm missing something, please straighten me out. I have an itinerary from the website, and she has confirmed this with her travel agent.
