There are several. I'll just throw a few out.Oil and Gas: Many of the rig positions are 1 month on and 1 month off so workers take the month off and head overseas.
Hospitality: Work at a major hotel chain and transfer (not that easy) or go to Singapore and work in the new resorts on Sentosa. (I'd assume the latter would be not unlike working in Vegas, except you're on an island.)
Finance: Work for a securities firm at a foreign exchange.
Media: Freelance or work at a network.
Technology: Get a job in a tech company that has global responsibility.
Consulting: Find a niche and consult on it.
Entrepreneurship:
• Own your own business and set your own schedule
• Invent or build a product with overseas manufacturing. Write off your trips. **(related--Manufacturing or QA work -- you go over and check the work being done)
Travel: Work for an airline.
Telecommute position: Several people have work at home jobs. You can take that work anywhere.
Day Traders: see telecommute
Security or Regulations Enforcement: Customs, Immigration, ICE, Homeland security officers (on airlines)
I'm sure there are other options like opening a call center or shipping but I don't know enough about those industry segments.
Alternatives:
Education -- 2 options
• Teach ESL (doesn't pay well)
• Education Visa (doesn't pay at all--out of pocket). Get a 1 year education in LOS and take a class (language, cooking, etc.). After the year is up you can either stay and start your own business, work for a local company or come back with new skills to market. You can also do online university course from US accredited schools while overseas but you don't qualify for the visa.
**A lot of people don't work overseas or have jobs that take them overseas. Many have jobs that require a lot of travel domestically and in their downtime take the accrued miles, hotel points and a passport and go. especially 'on the bench' between consulting engagements
