"Thailand vs. korea vs. Viet Nam vs. Japan"

I will be traveling to HK in a couple of months, and have the oportunity for a 2 or 3 day "side trip" to one of these four countries.

My criteria:

I love AMPS - basic R&T - no full srevice - no condoms.
Inexpensive.
Relatively safe from robbery and LE concerns. I prefer not to be robbed or incarcerated .
I only speak english.
I like exciting "red light" districts.
I like local culture and dislike tourist destinations.
I don't drink alcohol.
I guess my perfect destination would offer inexpensive soapy massage, happy endings, nice culture, american friendly, etc.

I know I could get much of this info by searching, but i'm appreciative of any compare/contrast input.

thank you in advance!

Japan and S. Korea are relatively expansive, so is Vietnam, unless you haggle like hell, or know where you are going...Thailand is also good, but getting expensive...why not consider P.I.?

"so is Vietnam, unless you haggle like hell, or know where you are going.."

I'm inclined to agree. Guys who do not like to haggle, including me, need inside info or luck to get the best values there. Or, of course, ability to speak vietnamese.

Well, you can basically kiss Japan (and probably Korea) off the list. In addition to being relatively expensive, getting by on English only is a tough proposition in those countries, to say the least.

I would not recommend Japan (expensive and limited establishment for English speaking men). Even though most people understand English there, most establishments only cater to Japanese or Japanese speaking men. There are some that do cater to English speaking men, but you would need to know exactly where to go. Plus, it's about a 7 hour flight from HK.

Thailand (Bangkok or Pattaya) would be the easy choice. They speak basis English at most establishment (and there are plenty). But, beware of the Ladyboys (there is a lot of them). There's a lot of Massage Parlors with happy endings and designated Redlight districts (Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy). You do need to negotiate at most places (street and establishment), but it's still cheap. If you want a challenge in (Bangkok) and do some hunting and not pay (except for drinks), try RCA (Royal City Ave). There are a few bar/clubs there, just order a soft drink or club soda and check out the scenery (indoor and outdoor). Or Funkie Pub (a local watering hole). In Pattaya, just walk on the main street next to the beach (do not go in the water) and to the WALKING STREET (the main strip where all the stripclubs and bars are at). The main street next to the beach will have all the independent escorts (500-1500 baht), the bars and stripclub will have a bar fee to bring back the girls(1000-2000 baht plus 500-1000 baht bar fee).

I think PI is also a good place to visit. I was only there a day, so can't really give a lot of detail. But, there's a less likely chance you'll run into a Ladyboy/Tranny and price was great too.

I've never been to Vietnam and Korea, so I can't comment on that.

Japan is nowhere near a 7 hour flight from Hong Kong - more like 3 and a half to 4 hours. (although I would still skip it as an English-only-speaking mongerer).

Sorry, it's actually 5 1/2 hour flight (don't forget the time change) if you can find a direct flight. If there's a layover, then it's usually about 7 hours.

Nope, the flights on All Nippon Airways are direct, and they are scheduled for 3 hours and 50 minutes of flight time.

Can we stop[ the "I have a bigger dick because I know Timetables" shit and get back to the original question? The dude needs to get laid, where should he go? If English is a must, I say P.I., Price may be better also...Thailand has been priced out...

LOL. (I've taken both ANA and JAL from HK to Japan, and every time the total flight time was under 4 hours. That means my dick is HUGE...)

>The dude needs to get laid, where should he go?

Actually, I don't think he intends to get laid. His original post says he just wants basic R&T, no full service. Given that, I'd suggest he just save his money, stay in HK and go to one of the many saunas there that provide basic R&T. They're relatively inexpensive, and he can get by with English only -- meeting both of his criteria.

On the other hand, I've never heard of anyone going to PI or LOS for just R&T. Is that normally done?

Never heard of anyone going to LOS for R&T, although I've known some folks who've gone there for legitimate non-sex tourism and who'd sneer at actuall barfining a girl but who'd accept a "happy ending" by hand at one of the tourist massage places. Also available at lower cost at some of the oilies if you turn down the full set of extras.

That said, he mentions "soapy" massages, and the girls are going to be wicked confused if he turns down FS at one of those...

Stay in HK. The trip is not worth it for RT only. Now if you want interesting cultural experiences Japan and Thailand are both interesting. Not so with Korea.

The PI is great for GFE+++ but not for massages.

Thank you to all for such thoughtful responses. I half expected the flamethrowers to come out...

following my original post, I did proceed to search previous threads on related topics. Concensus on Japan and Korea being exclusionary and expensive, etc.

Thailand looked very promising, and I though about PI as well.

Finally, in looking at some of the HK threads, I realized there are a wealth of oportunities I have been unaware of. I especially want the check out the 141 places.

I will keep track of my experiences, and provide a trip report upon my return on October 22nd.

Thanks again for your help!

This is easy. PI for sure. Most speak English, hotels are cheap. Girls are cheap. Food and drinks are cheap.

In Japan, at bar in Rapongi, I was paying $11 a beer. Girls are better looking there. But super easy to score in PI.

Its Roppongi where wild jgirls go to do gaijin (especially Gas panic), and yes Japan is expensive.

But Korea has some tourist appeal also at much less cost. I used to think it was an ugly concrete jungle also, until I actually looked. Seoul is actually one of the more attractive big cities in Asia, MUCH nicer than BKK, Manila or Jakarta, or Kyoto, Osaka or Tokyo for that matter. But it aint so easy to get action in Seoul (unless you speak Korean).

never had to interact with the locals much, And grant you they are not a warm and fuzzy bunch. But there are areas of great natural beauty around Seoul, especially South of the river. Gangnam is lovely in many areas IMHO. Wide, leafy boulevards, great shops and restaurants, nice parks, riverside vistas, and blue skies. Whats not to like?
