"Which dvd decrypter is the best ?"
 
I know this question was asked a while back.

However, with technological advancement I wanted to inquire which dvd decrypter is the best?

It's a shame that www.dvdecrypter.com has shut down. They had a good freeware application.

My searches resulted in finding this product, ImgBurn. It claims to start where DVDdecrypter left off...http://www.speedlabs.org/index.php?page=imgburn

Anyone have any experience using this product? Is there something better out there?

If you like dvd decrypter, you will like Imgburn. It is fast and has same looks and feels, but more and better functionalities. I use Imgburn mainly for ripping, building ISO, and burn.

For backing up DVD-9 to DVD-5, I use VOBblanker to get rid of unwanted data, then transcode files using DVDshrink.

There are several freeware and trial software tools, along with how-to guides at videohelp.com and doom9.org. You may want to peruse them and decide on which ones you really like.

DVD Shrink coupled with ANYDVD has been absolutely bullet proof for me.

.......and that's one to grow on.

I second that. I made backups of all my disney movies so the grandkids will stop tearing up the originals. Also nero handles the burning chores perfectly.

I paid the subscription for AnyDVD and that crew is the best.

   Ok, I have a Question, I have DVd Shrink, and anydvd, how do you get them to work together? I'm tring to rip just the movies from some of the dicss that have to put on Portable Media players. and some of the movies will not rip in dvd shrink.

But I was told that useing both together would work. just don't know how.

   Do you have the latest version of anydvd installed? If you do try the trial version of clonedvd2 (available at the same site as anydvd) and see if the movie will then rip. I’ve heard that anydvd works best with clonedvd2. I used to use anydvd with dvdshrink but switched to clonedvd2 as I feel it is a better program.

One thing to keep in mind when using clonedvd2 instead of dvdshrink. Dvdshrink lets you know in advance if the folder you have chosen for the shrunk movie already has content so you can choose a different folder. Clonedvd2 automatically deletes any content in the folder without warning you. Usually the deleted movie can be found in the recycle bin and be recovered but there are exceptions.

That's whats nice about Ripit4me, it works with dvdshrink and dvd decrypter and creates it's own .psl files to correct the "Sony" blocks. Sony is now putting fake files on the DVDs to throw off any older decrypters. Ripit4me is free and has links to all the other programs needed to use it. It also has a "1-click" button that lets you walk way and not baby sit the program. Never used Anydvd, so I can't put my $.02 in on that one. HTH

Thanks for introducing me to Ripit4me. I used it this morning, and it worked well with DVD Decrypter.

By chance, have you used it with Imgburn? The interfaces are similar... hopefully, it will work well with as well.

No I have not used Imgburn.......I use Nero on it's own.
